RE: Belial - Information
You have already shown your influenced by reading about paranormal so now I must ask why you would study demons? You become what you surround yourself with. You should instead think positive thoughts and study positive things. Remember if you don't control your mind others will.
Forget demons and spirits, instead think about what you want your life to be. Write your idea of your future and put it where you see it all the time, look at it everyday and take steps to make it come true. Look at it then lay down for 15 minutes and close your eyes and fill your thoughts with this. Its called positive imagining. Remember what you think about you become. When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence. |

RE: Belial - Information
If you are beginning to engage in demonology, be aware that the use of any demons name could invite them. Demons are by invitation only...and if you hear your name spoken in a crowded room you will turn around and listen to what is being said to you don't you?
So do they. If you intend to research things such as this it's really better to keep it to yourself and not speak or write a specific name. RE: Belial - Information
UglyNRude- I agree that it's important to surround yourself with positivity and that dwelling on the 'darker' side of things too much might not always be the smarter thing to do, but I don't think it has to lead to disaster. It's about not crossing the line. I have been fascintated by the paranormal (spirits, demons, hauntings) since I can remember but I don't feel my interest or research in it has had a negative effect on me personally. I suppose it depends upon ones own personal intentions and where their heart lies more than anything. But that's just my feelings on the matter. I DO agree that it's important to surround yourself with positive thinking, and to concentrate on your life. Jenova - Only you know why you are interested in/fascinated by hell and demons, maybe you're just like me and want to learn because the subject is a fascinating one. Don't take this the wrong way but please do tread carefully. If you believe in demons and in their power, then giving them TOO MUCH focus and attention might lead you down a darker road. |

RE: Belial - Information
Fiona you are absolutely right about that. I have had a couple of people actually get upset with me for telling them to stop focusing on suspected demonic activity they have reported. When I let them know it's thier choice...and they need to focus on God and stop inviting the demon they get angry with me. People let themselves be tortured. Focusing on the negative invites the activity. You want to be free you have to close the door.
I have to run, but I will come back to this thread to offer some protections when studying demons. RE: Belial - Information
Thanks, Lady K, I'll look forward to reading about that. Ways to protect yourself when studying demons would be good thing to know.
I once knew a priest, and each year he would choose a particular Sunday to preach about the nature of sin and satan, and he said that every year, without fail, something negative would happen.. sometimes major things - like he'd have a fall and be too sore and ill to actually do the sermon- to little things, such as losing all his sermon that he'd saved on his computer. The point was, he was dabbling in something that didn't want light shed on it. And he paid a price. Even this priest found it hard to stay spiritually safe! |

Thank you for this post, you are indeed right that people get angry when you tell them to be cautious when researching demons etc. I do have my reasons for researching but I try not to focus on it too much as I know the consequences of divulging in demonology. RE: Belial - Information
Thanks for popping in Jenova, I had forgotten to return to the thread (it happens, I don't ignore or avoid but I do get busy and often forget to come back).
Remember to arm youself with the Truth of God, know who you are in Christ, and be sure to spend more time studying your bible than studying demons. I know that sounds silly...how can you study demons with your nose in the bible? You can though. Scripture doesn't reference what demons can and cannot do specifically, however it does acurately though the telling of parables and the witness of the Apostles show the authority of Jesus over demons. It's through the life and work of Christ that we learn what demons can and cannot do. Jesus gives us the same authority when we receive the Holy Spirit. It is His power in us and through us that sends a demon fleeing. I found a great article awhile back I thought I would share with you, if you have a few minutes it's an interesting read; http://wbcheart.org/impactblog/?p=168 A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. ~Friedrich Nietzsche Feel free to tell me what you need and I will tell you how to get by without it. ~Mom For the believer, both the evidence of science and the failure of science to explain the paranormal is all the proof they need.
