RE: Are You an Empath? How to Stop Being an Emotional Sponge
I was about to start a new topic about how I think I might be an empath (recent events, don't really want to talk about it), but this article describes me almost to a T. The eating thing was the only thing that didn't sit with me, I'm not a big eater.
But I cannot stand big crowds, especially lately. It gets so bad that I get sick to my stomach. Anyway, thanks for posting that, good read. |

RE: Are You an Empath? How to Stop Being an Emotional Sponge
Spooky, I am an Empath/Sensitive. Some days can be very difficult as I pick up on the living and the dead. I also have other gifts, and I wonder how it would be not to feel all of this? I am a grown woman and it all started about 4 years old, as far as I can remember. I have learned that sometimes I just have to go with it but have to push myself to get things done. I love to help others and tend to open up to much. I am of strong faith which helps me calm things down when it gets to bad. Most people have some type of gift, but many just shrug it off. Its an amazing feeling to take another persons pain away, be it physical or emotional, but it takes its toll....
Pride and Fear always distort the truth into either a false sense of security or a lack of confidence and diminished self-worth.
