Did I just see my first shadow person?

Okay, I know you can't answer that question for me... but something weird just happened!

I am at work, on a night shift at the hospital. So, I admit first off that I am tired... having said that, I had just come out of the staff room after making a cup of coffee and as I looked up, straight ahead of me, I saw a black fleeting shadow move across the hallway.. I have to admit, my heart skipped a beat! It got me feeling really nervous, if I am honest!

There was no one around. Just me. The corridor I was on is the main corridor - you have to go through a double wooden set of doors to get to where the patients all are... so I don't think somebody caused a shadow without me realising... I'm open minded though...

I do know I am tired, but even so, it wasn't "corner of the eye" movement because I actually saw this black thing in front of me, moving across the way...

I can't say for sure, but it certainly spooked me out!

wow it sounds like a possibility... what an experience... ok take a deep breath and say I am ok... then think about your experience and then do some investigation

I see them all the time so they don't freak me out unless they wake me up and just stand there looking at me

I feel okay, thanks LMC... at the exact moment I saw the black figure I did freeze and my heart went galloping lol, but I was alright after. I have to admit I feel more nervous now, when I'm doing my checks during the night in the ward... !

I've heard lots of stories about my workplace being haunted.. not sure how much of it is true! These stories have a way of growing legs and running!

your welcome fiona... all stories grow legs and run! lol. ahhh must be kind of hard to do your checks in the ward now that your nervous... so sorry just tell them not to bother you, your busy! that usually works for me

I would imagine you were pretty startled by that, Fiona! Now I would wonder...how brightly lit is the corridor? Dim lighting can cause a lot of shadows that might not be expected.

At the same time...I know a lot of people have talked about seeing these shadows that it seems like you can reach out and touch, even in brighter lighting. I do think it is very possible that they exist, I just don't know what they are.

You raise a good point, Scarygirl... there are a lot of lights on in the hospital, even at night.... but I suppose there are some shadowy corners here and there.

I guess I will never really know for sure if I saw something that was natural or paranormal... It certainly gave me the chills though! lol.

I have no idea how "thick" or transparent the shadow was.... all I literally saw was a black, tall shadow fleet from one side of the corridor to the other.

Just read recently that excessive caffeine may make people think they see paranormal activity. Or it could be the fact that a lot of people croak in hospitals. Choose your poison, I mean caffeine.
