RE: EMT's see and hear the departed
I am curious as to what proof you have of this? All the EMT's I know have never see or hear the departed.
When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence. |

RE: EMT's see and hear the departed
A good friend of mine was an EMT. I asked him once if he ever saw or heard anything that resembled a spirit leaving the body. He said no. I would like your opinion RM...was he lying to me?
What I interpret from what you say is that one particular field of emergency medicine has personally experienced seeing spirits of the dead or dying as they cross over. Why not doctors or nurses? Or nursing home employees? I'm just curious as to why you would single out EMT's. Many of the others I mentioned are in a position where they are around someone when they die, and I don't hear too many talk about seeing spirits. And all the ones I have known (including EMT's) have acknowledged they have seen things they didn't understand or didn't seem possible. So I guess I am wondering where you are coming from here...are you saying that they are ALL afraid to talk about it? Why? RE: EMT's see and hear the departed
Religion, taeches that such things are works of th devil, even though their bibles clearly say otherwise. If you see spirits, then you are considered crazy. Religion has taken away many of our God given gifts. Because this subject is considered taboo, many just don't want to talk about it. For fear of being called nuts. Doctors and nurses are hardened creatures, if it doesn't fit into their medical textbooks, it doesn't exist. Chaplains are not trained for this. They have absolutely no metaphsyical experience or background. Nor do they wish too. They happily wave their bibles and think that that is the answer to everything. Ok , I am in a very foul mood today. |

RE: EMT's see and hear the departed
I was an EMT and I'm sorry but I never saw or heard the spirits of the departed. And we picked up many dead people (living in Kansas City you see lots)
Faeries, come take me out of this dull world, For I would ride with you upon the wind, Run on the top of the dishevelled tide, And dance upon the mountains like a flame. (William Butler Yeats, "The Land of Heart's Desire," 1894) |

RE: EMT's see and hear the departed
I've been away for a while but was reading a few posts and had a comment. I worked in the nursing homes around where I live and there is a lot of what I call spiritual activity. One time there was this lady who would cry out all day and night talking about the devil being there. She would only do this a few times in a month. But whenever she did within the next week or so 3 people would die. And it always happens in 3's. If you had a odd number like 5 you knew someone else was next. Sometimes it was ones you never even thought of. It could just be a co-wink-e-dink but who's to say. I always hated to hear her yell. She did it for 3 years before she passed away herself. But I don't really think it's someone's profession, I think it really depends on the person. I've been told that I pay attention to strange details that most people don't. I can always tell when there is something wrong with my body and I'm usually right. But most people don't do this. I can also read others body language better than others. I guess what I'm getting at, is who knows what makes a person more sensitive to stuff than others. I would say that some mail person could tell you events by patterns about the people he/she delivers mail to every day too.

RE: EMT's see and hear the departed
I have taked to some of the paramedics and firemen, and some will open right up and tell me thier stories. Some will walk the other way. So, i dont know if all see and hear things. Im sure they have to be careful about what they say to others, as they may loose thier jobs if they start talking about spirits and such. On the other hand, some that i have talked to are happy to talk to a person who understands, as they feel that they cant tell anyone else. I have talked to a few about the spirit world and how awesome it is to be involved with someones passing. I always let them know that they are lucky, as they can help a person through the passing. Im sure many of these people that have passed where also happy to have someone there with them holding thier hand and possibly saying a prayer for them. RM, i understand where you are coming from, as some people do see the spirit world very easily, and some dont. I dont know the reason, maybe its a God given gift, thats what i think. Pride and Fear always distort the truth into either a false sense of security or a lack of confidence and diminished self-worth.

RE: EMT's see and hear the departed
(09-05-2010 05:11 PM)Reverend Mother Wrote: Doctors and nurses, are trained. Most , but not all, just dismiss the probablity of being surrounded by spirits. Well Thank you Reverend Mother... Finally we always hear everyone around her taking the skeptic side. I am so glad to hear something from the other side or at least in the middle. I am with you. Oh that person must be nut's. No God gives spiritual gifts to who he decides, and maybe people get mad they didn't get one. But hang in there you may get your proof yet. It's not such a blessed and easy road either. I'm also tired of people saying that someone wants attention, or to be special. Yes this is just the kind of attention a person wants, not really. I am so proud of you for having the courage to stand up for the truth. I also used to have a friend that worked for EMS and they see way more horrible things than we can imagine. I finally had to ask him not to tell me anymore, people die right in front of them all the time in terrible deaths. So it makes complete since... Thank you for sharing Melanie "Be who you are, and say what you want Because those that matter, don't mind And those that mind, don't matter" ~Dr Suess~ |
