RE: Once a member Always a member
There is a famous haunted cemetery close by, every weekend during the summer people come from hundreds of miles to see a ghost. I've investigated it a few times and while not finding anything find it peaceful. Now there are many legends surrounding this Throughout the years, I’ve heard tons of stories about Pere Cheney. People have reported all the usual paranormal occurances such as cold spots, apparitions, disembodied voices, ghost trains and everything else under the sun. So is Pere Cheney really haunted? Being that the ghost town is the perfect breeding ground for legends, most of the stories circulating are nothing more than urban legend and over active imaginations. Now with all these legends I watch as car load after car load of ghost hunters make there way around the cemetery. A coyote howls and they run for their cars and leave. I have seen lots of these ghosts they capture, dust orbs, a finger in front of a lens, a tree branch, a menacing bush. So what I am getting at is if they believe the legnds then they experience ghosts.
Commonly Heard Rumors About Pere Cheney 1. The ground is cursed by a witch or Native Americans 2. The town was killed off by sickness and then rebuilt again and again. 3. A fire ravaged the entire town. 4. Mass burials are all over Pere Cheney 5. Bad luck follows you if you take something from the town (although some will swear this is true and happened to them!) http://www.michigansotherside.com/Articl...Cheney.htm When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence. |

On the other hand, if i saw something with glowing blue eyes, i would get the heck out of there for sure!!! Pride and Fear always distort the truth into either a false sense of security or a lack of confidence and diminished self-worth.

I have been told that it's actually disrespectful to enter a cemetery a night. Has anyone ever heard this or something similar.

I have been in cemeteries too much these past few years and not just to investigate... to say good bye to loved ones.
Still feel at ease there. May God bless those we had lost and for the ones that are still here. The pain cuts deep although life goes on you are always in our hearts and memories! the cross roads
meet you at 1 sweet day |

RM I always take advantage of the ghost tours...we are approaching my favorite time of year for that and it's always an exciting thing to me. We have one not too far from me in a small town called Clinton, it's filled with history and spooky old stories. I am not big on the haunted house scene...so this is the kind of thing I really enjoy.
Someday I hope to attend the Savannah Ga. and New Orleans ghost tours, they are famously spooky and go through the old cemetaries there. But again, as they are organized events they are with permission. Rob, if this is something that interests you deeply you should contact the city and the cemetary and see if you can organize a nighttime ghost hunt or walk through. Do your homework and research in order to provide an interesting tour and event...and then post it on meetup.com. It wouldn't take alot of promotion, things like this draw people from far and wide. It would give you the opportunity to do a nighttime investigation and make sure that you are safe to do so. For the sceptic, no evidence no matter how scientific will ever be proof enough. ~John Zaffis |
