Cracks discovered in the surface of the Moon suggest it is shrinking.

The shrinking moon theory... or how about the Shrinking Moon Movie? I am sure that any shrinkage is very slow but even so this is the first time I ever heard of the idea.

Do you reckon the moon is getting smaller out there?

I was reading about this yesterday as well. Finding these scarps, especially with no large craters on them, does indicate that all of this is fairly recent. But as the article said, it only indicates that the shrinking has occurred within the last billion years...so I don't see the ol' moon going anywhere anytime soon!

I just heard about this, this morning. The moon controls the oceans doesn't it? Could the changes in the moon be the cause of all these increasing floods everywhere?

The moon is shrinking but it didn't happen overnight. This has been happening over the last billion years. Scientists also say this shrinkage in anyway will not effect us.

Haven't read this yet but i have read about a hollow moon theory.
