this just happened five minutes ago. the front porch light was on. i was sitting watching the news. i could see some of the porch and see the area where the stairs come up. i hear a loud bump. in front of the door is a carpet runner going horizontal in front of the door. the mail box is directly left of the door. there is a metal pail under it we use for cleaning corn in the winter. i hear the thump, bump and i go to the door. the end of the runner is wrapped over the metal pail in front of the storm door. i almost couldn't open it. i saw and heard nothing! i went out and there wasn't a cat in sight. besides how could a cat pull up the runner and roll the bucket in it three ft to the other side of the door. while out there, i said " very funny, feel better?" i am a little confused as to how this happened without me seeing it. i have seen some quick shadows lately on the wall just to the right of the door. anyone have any ideas. sure it could have been someone, but i would have heard them because there are a couple of loose boards as you come on to the porch. if it's what i think it is... they're back!!

I don't want to alarm you, but it could be someone that would know about those loose boards and took steps to make sure you didn't hear them walk on them. To be on the safe side, you may want to make a report to the police, especially if you are home alone.

What is it that you're worried it is? You say "they're back"...could you talk about who they are?

this is a old house. we have had activity all over it. that's what i mean by they are back. i've seen shadow people out there moving back and forth. the dog has to. i seen them looking in the window on the door. coarse i'm never afraid. i wish i had the room to tell you all all of the paranormal things that have happened. i have even been asked by a former tenant if there was any weird stuff happening. she told me she could tell me some things about what has happened. i'm sure it wasn't human because my dog would have heard them before they even got to the door.

When was the last time there was any activity like the shadows? (before tonight, I mean) Have you done any research on the property or the house other than talking to the former tenant?

Sprinkle some baking soda on the porch. If it's human or an animal, you will see the tarcks.

i know a little of the history of this house from the abstract. it's quite thick. the first thing to happen, was back in 1888. a married couple lived here. he abused her and she won the house. it was a farm back then, we have dug up some hardware from the back yard and in the alley. i have seen a shadow man in what i assume is the formal dining room. this house has been added on and altered. the front of the house is the oldest part. the shadow man i believe was a modern man, the last 25 years. he was all black and i could see the outline of his clothes. one of the last owners died at the age of 53. i've been told this was a party house. in the same room we have heard booted footsteps. we both, a week apart, saw a residual victorian woman walking away from us. where she was walking in her time there was no house. the old well is outside beside this room. i have seen people running outside of my computer room window and they were a blur. i would go outside and at a normal speed i would have been able to catch sight of them leaving the front or back yard. our driveway is one of the few properties that go from the street in front to the alley in back. i think at one time it was a alley it's self. the three properties to the west and the one to the east were part of this farm. i have seen dog toys jumping up in the air inches in front of chevy and only two feet in front of me. they just jumped, it was enough to startle chevy too. i trust him and his hearing. the front yard is long and so is the driveway. he hears a car pull in when we don't. my boyfriend has seen those to. donnie was not a believer till he saw the woman. so that is some of what happens although it is quiet for the most part. one of the owners tried to auction it off and no one wanted it because of the basement in the old part. every room in this house tilts in two or three different directions lol. i would like to find that woman, but it was about five years ago. one of the previous owners live two doors up, but are elderly and i think they would think i was nuts. i've seen a victorian woman walking on a sidewalk at the house we lived at before this one. they were very similar. both were seen in the daytime. like i said i'm not afraid and am very curious. i should go to the library with the abstract and look some of these people up. it has changed hands alot. thanks for reminding me.

by the way, this house is 1800 sq ft. and like a shotgun house. the kitchen and laundry room have been built on in the back. there is a large room we use for storage just off of the dining room. i know the basement stairs have been moved because there is the frame in the basement where they were. now there at the very back off the laundry.

Thanks for telling us your experience and sharing the history of your property, TrollDoll.

I really think the baking soda is a wonderful idea, I think if you are still worried then you should place some of this down during the evenings- that way, if it was a person messing with you, at least you'll know. If things still happen and there are no marks on the baking soda- it would strongly suggest something paranormal. If you do this, I'd love to know what happens if you can keep us updated Smile

From the experiences that people have had on the property it seems that the place does have paranormal activity.

By the way, thats amazing, you seeing the spirit of the Victorian woman... ! Were you scared?

this morning i briefly tried to recreate it when i told donnie. i couldn't get it to roll up like it was. i only heard one noise when the bucket tipped over. if it were the cats, i'm sure i would have heard more noise and so would chevy. donnie immediately went out back to the shed to check. i guess i just chalk this up as another episode. if it happens again or something else i'll let ya know. it has been quiet this summer so i really wasn't expecting it. no i'm not afraid. i was 8 feet from the victorian woman when she appeared. she wasn't touching the floor. she lasted about two or three seconds then gone. thanks, i've been wanting to tell about the house for awhile. i figure 123 years worth of people living here means something. no it's not that old, it is for this town. creston was started in 1879. the house 1887. such is life....
