Samantha(friend) saw a shadow ghost in the mirror at my house(should I believe this?)

I have a friend with the same name as me(Samantha) who wanted to go to my house one time and a while before that I was talking about 2 mirrors crossing each other in the room I sleep in. She wanted to go up into the room. So we did and talked about it again then came out of the room. When we were looking around the house a while she said she looked in the room and saw a black shadow in the Mirror of the reflection of the other mirror.
I don't know if I should believe this. Even though I do believe in the Paranormal. I just don't think I should believe or not because Samantha saw it not me and she is afraid of Father from Codename: Kids Next Door. Even though he's in a silhoullette suit not like he's a shadow or anything.(She doesn't know that,yet) Theres also a possibility that she's a little bit crazy.

You might want to keep the crazy part to yourself if she is your friend. If you want to resolve the issue you could go up stairs with her again and both look in the mirrors to see if you can both see it. I could not tell you for sure if she really saw something but to spring that on someone is pretty unusual. Does she see things all the time? Has she done this before?

You mention that your friend is scared of a cartoon dad. I would suggest you and your friends stop talking about the paranormal. Speaking of the paranormal might not be the best for either of you. I believe it is causing you to imagine things that are not happening.

Just the fact that you were talking about this kind of thing can definitely plant a seed. Many times on tours of haunted locations, people talk about experiencing something strange, and a lot of it is because it has been suggested to them.

SG, I agree. When we pre-think about something, the thoughts are there. Things can appear to be something they are not.

For example, you just finished watching the movie "Halloween". You have to walk home in the dark. You will hear every little noise, and think Michael Myers is lurking. Of course, he isn't, but the mind will play tricks on you.

I agree with what Ali is saying but would like to add some things...

Our psychological workings don't necessarily differentiate between what is real or what is imagined... in short - the brain WILL MAKE YOU REACT if that is how the brain is wired.

Entering into paranormal discussion, "games" and things which allow the imagination to run wild may bring consequences to you that you are not ready for. The average person's psychological workings won't care if things are real or not - your physical body will react, according to what cues your mind/psyche gives the body. This can mean any number of complicated results which make an alleged "paranormal experience feel real." But ask yourself, "Am I creating a scenario with my mind or am I observing something paranormal?"

Even experienced ghost-hunters - if they're concerned about truths and not showmanship - de-brief each other and talk often about the possibility that their experiences are self-created, and they never immediately assume that what they see, hear, feel, sense is automatically outside of themselves or outside of their own subjectivity...

I think at least half of the things "experienced" are valid experiences because "we feel them," however, they turn out to be explainable by physics, simple mathematics or other UNR-ish methods (plug for our UNR here lol)...and are simply not caused by ghosts, shadow people, other hard to describe entities that are separate from us or our world.

It's just a really good idea to learn a whole bunch - as much as possible - about what the world is about before delving into mirror games, dabbling in occult practices, ghost-hunting, etc.

Your friend probably really believes what she saw was a shadow ghost. The question is did she really. In her mind she saw a shadow ghost, now what can cause shadows? Corner of eye phenomenon, a swelled blood vessel in her eye, an actual shadow caused by something in the room, or even her. If your thinking paranormal you have planted the seed. If you are searching for the truth you look for what really caused the shadow. Start to be aware of your surroundings, look for things that can trick your mind. Always remember your mind will finish what doesn't make sense to it so a dark spot or shadow can become a person if they are programmed to look for it.
