We took our twin neices on a short vacation the other day. While going around doing stuff, the said things like you read my mind again and stuff to each other and told us they can read each others minds but one was better at it than the other. Problem is they belong to a religion that really frowns on that type of stuff. My husband ignored all this and wouldn't comment, same religion. I told them it was common in twins.
I did not discuss this with their parents I wonder what they think about this.

Well, religious or not, it is hard to deny the connection twins have with each other. A lot of studies have been done because yes, it is common for twins to be able to feel what the other is feeling and know what the other is thinking.

Found this link that talks a bit about this connection. Some feel that it is nothing more than the coincidence of two people being so much alike that they can predict the other...however, others feel that it is more than just coincidence. And of course, the twins themselves know what they are feeling.

Yeah I think all twins can do this because they are genetically so close, my bro and I are 5 years apart and we always make people trip on finishing each others sentances, I just never thought about it more than that we are brothers, I have always loved watching twins in their teens the unspoken convo between them is a trip.

Just out of curiosity are they double egg twins or split egg twins? To me the twins coming from a single egg would have a closer connection. People also believe people who are extremely close like being in love for 50 years have a connection as well.

Aww well darn, the annual twins day event in Twinsburg, Ohio (about 20 minutes North of where I live) was this weekend. Should have brought the whole family. The event has attendees from all over the world. Would have been the perfect place to ask questions.

My mother and I have this too...it really isn't exclusive to twins though it is much more common in them. I honestly think this is the way people are supposed to communicate with one another.

I am dating a Twin and I always joke that i got a buy one get one free deal with them. I love being around them because i can be with them one min and then they can go to there special "twin" world the next. My boyfriend and his twin have a connection that is unbelievable. They feel each others moods and know when the other one is in any kind of trouble or dangerous situation. I think the connection with twins starts in the whom. It also helps that there mother is psychic too. My boyfriend wont talk to me about stuff like this so me and his twin talk about it all the time. Not alot of people know about my gifts but the moment i met my boyfriends twin he knew that I had more then one gift so we play mind games all the time and we can pick up on each others thoughts. I love my twins and i know for a fact that twins are gifted!!!

I have seen this first hand in twins, this is true in some. It is very interesting. All that time so close in there mommy, sharing everything. I think it is so sad, when people suppress things, and don't help children, or people out of fear, and ignorance. I live in an area of the country "the Bible belt" they are so that way. Everything is evil. It is ridiculous... It is a beautiful thing, and God given... Melanie

I know this is old I have been away, but they are two egg twins, not split, not identical. One is taller than the other, but they do look a lot alike and were hard to tell apart before one got taller. I don't know what their parents make of it. The mother's mother was a twin herself and has said she had a special bond with her twin. She has passed on now.

I have a story for those readers who have been married for more than a few years. I had been married for nearly eight years when something happened that amused me and also served to scare me just a little.

I sat up reading in bed one night for a few hours. My wife had been asleep for at least two hours. I was very focused on what I was reading (magazines for computer geeks) and searching through every single item printed. I kept asking myself the same few questions. I was trying to select some hardware for my PC. And suddenly, my wife spoke up and answered my question in some considerable detail. She showed no sign of being awake, before or after the question. I stopped dead in my tracks and just stared at her for a few minutes.

This was in the early eighties. I reasoned that because she was in one state of mind near deep sleep, and I was really intensly focused on my reading, so much so that she seemed to read my mind. Well. I confess. I was a little rattled. All I could think was, "I better be more careful, or she might read something else that I don't wish to share.

I'm laughing now, but back then I was doing anything but laughing. This happened once before, but we were both wide awake.
