RE: Has anybody had a tarot reading or their fortune read and it came true?
Well, for starters... I do know there is a difference between making a reading coming true... and just following where it leads to find that it really was the truth...
Let me explain... and it is kind of a long story. Back in 2007, I was still living in Pennsylvania. More specifically, I was still living with my parents in Pennsylvania. I'd been working on somethings, I had a screenplay that has seemed like it was going to get produced about 50 different times, only to have the funding pulled again and again for stupid reasons that had nothing to do with me or the script. A friend of mine and I were working on another script that we planned to film ourselves, but the project was just a nightmare for me to write... it just wasn't clicking in my head... and truth me told I was just growing to hate it. The whole year I'd been pulling extra hours at work in order to back this movie on a shoestring budget. I was frustrated, and there was a night when I was trying to work on the script where I became so frustrated with it my mind gave up with the thought "screw this, I should just take the money and move to New York" (New York was my immediate thought as earlier that summer I'd befriended some people that lived up there). A few days after the breakdown, a friend of mine and I went to the PA Ren Faire. The past few years of going there, I'd talked about getting a tarot reading done, but never did as I have a bit of a problem with people making you pay for tarot readings (call it a moral objection I guess). Well that day, I just decided... what the heck... it might just be good for a laugh. I went it, and the first thing the woman told me was why she was doing it... she wanted to pick up some extra money to help her son take a trip to Europe. She followed that by giving he her card and explaining that she has worked, and still occasionally works as a psychic detective and has had a good track record (enough to warrant several of her cases to have been featured on court TV and the like). Now, keep in mind.... I ONLY gave her yea and no answers, and did not elaborate on anything she said... I just sat and listened (I've seen enough back TV psychics to know how they get info). She then laid down the cards and looked at me saying "You need to move." She went on to say that I was still living with my parents, and that I was frustrated. That I'd been holding back from taking the next step because they never felt right to me, but that I needed to move to enter the next phase in my life. Well, this seemed cliche, so I asked .... where do you mean move... just out of the house or to like another city...? She looked me dead in the eye and said "You already know that... it came to you a couple of days ago." She continued to lay out the cards and told me about how I was working on a project I had no faith in, and that I had no faith in it because a part of me knew it wasn't the right thing to do. She kept laying out cards and proceeded to lay out the various points of frustration in my life (to be able to bring a point full circle, lets just say inability to meet a possible significant other was in this list) and kept giving tiny little details that weren't something I could see someone BSing (back to the significant other thing... she told me exactly how long it had been since I'd dated someone). She reshuffled the deck and laid the cards out again. She said that if I moved to the place that was already in my head.... I would find the right path. That once I moved, I would find the proper path to success in my chosen field, that I would find the right girl (she even gave me some details)... and that generally things would start to fall into the places they were supposed to. She then paid out some more and said she was going to ease my fears. "You're someone who looks alot before they leap, so I know these are the things you want to know before you do something like this... and I don't blame you, you'd be stupid nto to immidiately worry about these things" she said that I'd have no problems finding an apartment, and that finding a job would be easy for me... so easy that it'd literally feel like it just fell into my lap. Before ending the reading, she looked at me and said "I already said you're the type of person who looks before they leap. But, truth be told, you're really the type of person who looks for so long that eventually they talk themselves out of leaping. Don't talk yourself out of this... just leap." Well, after a few days of soul searching I decided to just take the gamble. I already had the money in the bank that I was going to use to fund the film. Strangely, I told my family my decision (kind of sprung it on them) and despite what their track record of protectiveness (and the fact they all live within 45 minutes of one another) would say... they were all extremely supportive and excited. I started taking serious looks into apartments in December (having set that I was going to move the the beginning of the new year). The first apartment I was able to see, I hit it off with the potential room mate and I walked out of the visit with the keys. I put in applications at temp agencies and some retail places. The first retail place I applied I got the same day... and after a month, the temp agency called and had me interview with an office. The person I interviewed and I hit it off... and by weeks end, I'd been hired there. No effort. Within a few months, I met a girl through a few chance meetings and we hit it off (we're now with a wedding planned for next year). It all fell into place. Well, most of it... I'm still working on getting into my chosen field.... Take it for what you will. To me... there were too many odd things to explain. Firefly-Star Wars, if Han Solo had been the main character and he'd still shot Greedo first. |

RE: Has anybody had a tarot reading or their fortune read and it came true?
I was freaked out about how accurate the one on here was , I approached it light heartedly and was just about totally freaked out when someone I didnt even know was able to give me specifics on something that they could not have known. It wasnt general either it was pretty specific in some ways.... I dont know how all that works but like gambling I tend to avoid this.. lol http://www.myspace.com/relicrip |

RE: Has anybody had a tarot reading or their fortune read and it came true?
I studied Tarot for while, it's been many years ago. One thing I learned is that when the death card comes up it doesn't mean the person will die. Death could mean many things, the end of a relationship or a career in a certain field, or anything that one may need a period of grieving for, even the loss of a cherished item or losing a home and moving to a new one. Death is about transformation and new beginnings. To tell someone they will die is just irresponsible, and in my opinion irreprehensible.
I have never had anyone read my Tarot though. I tried a couple times...went to see a friend of a friend more than once with the promise of a reading that for whatever reason didn't happen. The last time, everyone there had been read...and then I was told she too tired to do more. I didn't get angry though, just took it as it wasn't the right time. When the opportunity presents itself I will be willing and openminded, and I am fully aware that I won't need to seek it out...it will come to me when the time is right and will be offered openly. A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. ~Friedrich Nietzsche Feel free to tell me what you need and I will tell you how to get by without it. ~Mom For the believer, both the evidence of science and the failure of science to explain the paranormal is all the proof they need. For the sceptic, no evidence no matter how scientific will ever be proof enough. ~John Zaffis |
