Revenge in the night

I just had a phone conversation with an old school friend i hadn't talked to in a year. He told me a little story about his girfriend who used to get paralysed in the bed, and a presence was felt. Sleep paralysis, you've all heard it. But have you heard two people at the EXACT same time, getting paralysed, Mother and daughter.

One theory was the Husband and father to these two women, had been a burglar. And one time he killed someone, an old man he tied up when he was thieving from his house, and left for dead. The theory goes that this man haunts the Family in revenge, coming often at night paralysing mother and daughter, letting them feel his presence, and cause fear in their hearts. My friend would know what was happening, when she would say: "He's here!"

Is this spirit's motivation Revenge?

And most importantly what does this say about sleep paralysis being a medical condition. How can it happen to two people at the same time???

RE: Revenge in the night
I have only personally experienced sleep paralysis once, but I have read about it a lot and have heard of other people's experiences both in stories I have read and people I know. I think it might be possible that there is a normal medical/scientific explanation for some few cases but there is no way that all of them could be explained away like that. I do feel that there is something paranormal about the experience. When I went through it I "knew" without any doubts at the time that there was "something" present in the room.

RE: Revenge in the night
That's the first time i've ever heard of two people at the same time experiencing sleep paralysis. But I don't think this is sleep paralysis, it seems more like an attack from some kind of malevalent spirit, like suggested above. Or even worse, a demon or demons.

One thing i do remember was that she didn't sense evil. Maybe this spirit was trying to communicate somehow?
