I have since read how to get rid of demons, (kept the scarey exclamation marks out there ha ha)

The one thing i wondered about, when you buy the olive oil and get it blessed, when you take it to the church and ask the priest, would he be used to someone doing this? Kind of cannot bring myself to do this somehow, so is there a way you can bless this yourself?

Yeah, didn't want to use too many scary exclamation points to stress the scary or serious parts.

Anyway, the church that I use to go to used olive oil all the time to anoint people when they prayed for them etc So, they were always happy to gather round and pray over the oil. I honestly have no idea how some other churches would react to a request like that.

I haven't been to church in years and have just prayed over the oil myself. I just ask God to anoint the oil with his power. I don't always use olive oil, I just tend to use it when I feel like the entity is particularly evil. But, yes you can pray over the oil and let your faith do the rest.

RE: The Hitchhiking Demon
I doubt it was a demon since you mentioned that the dog scares easily. And having a new person come into the home probably freaked him out with the new scent which explains why he was walking around with his snout in the air sniffing, I know my dog was scared around new people and acted strangely as well because he didn't know them.

And not all ghosts are friendly, there's been a few occasions where people have gotten scratched by them. And they can be bothersome at the most with the noises/voices etc..

And if it was a demon it's more likely that it is attached to the person who came in rather then enter her house and stay. And if the demon had stayed the dog wouldn't be whimpering and growling the dog would be going completely insane and by insane I mean barking for no reason, growling an snarling while looking at a specific area.

Pets as well as children can pick up on this stuff alot more then an adult can. So it was probably just the new scent of the person that came to her house. And smelling the new scent the dog wasn't sure what he should do. He was more an less confused at weather to be scared or mad.

And dealing with a demon by yourself is dangerous, getting a priest in would do best but .. getting a priest to bless the house doesn't always work and will sometimes anger the demon that much more to the point in violent attacks towards who ever it feels like attacking. Which is very dangerous if you have an infant/child and even other family members and pets in the house. So be careful how you handle things when dealing with a demon.

And demons do not always show themselves. There not to be messed with there very dangerous beings and to get into a tango with one and get it angry would not be wise. If how ever the priest should come to bless her house and things start to happen but nothing is working then the only thing left to do is leave and prey that it doesn't follow you to your new location.

Hi V
I agree with you, animals have an instinctual radar which warns us if someone has encroached their territory. When I was younger, well, younger that my current age Wink, my friend used to live in a vicarage in Ribchester, Lancashire, UK and whenever I visited, the dog used to go beserk. I realised the dog was very territorial and protective of my friend. Eventually, the dog stopped barking at me and we ended up as friends which was really lovely. He was such an affectionate dog.

I remember this one time when her dog went absolutely nuts. We were in their office, it was a small room and I was looking at her photos on the computer when her dog (the dog was a very big Alsatian), was snarling, whining, growling so badly I thought it was going to attack me. The dog came up to me and nudged me several times, so I stood up then using his nose pushed me to the door. Once I was outside it beckoned me in the direction of where my friend was. She was in the kitchen making us a cup of tea. I told my friend what happened and she simply stated that the office was haunted but she was used to it and the dog was probably just trying to protect me. My visits were limited to her home after that, I just got to scared and started having nightmares about ghosts. Now I wish I wasn't such a scary-cat and researched the phenomena.

I liked your interpretation though, animals are very clever, credit is often not given sufficiently Smile

RE: The Hitchhiking Demon
Church of God type churches usually have the anointing oil. I was at one once and the anointed me a prayed over me. Seperate story, my daughter was little and having nightmares. My brother made a potion of herbs and put it in a spary bottle and sprayed the house. I can't remember what herbs they were. But he thought it was supernatural in form so he made the potion for her. He also used salt through the house. What ever reason why, psychological or other, it worked. This was just before he became wiccan.
