RE: Just Wondering...
It may go back way back to the Majestic 12 papers the way it sounds.
I think any time you state a law on record it gives the powers that be a legality over whatever situation may come up.I don't know but i think there is more knowledge than what is public knowledge.IMHO

They would be just as secretive about that as they would about anything else, don't want them ruskies finding out our secrets.

I understand that Area 51 is our site for our latest technology. But, I do believe there is more housed there than planes and weaponry.

I have to ask, what makes you feel that way? Cheyenne Mountain has just the same, if not more security, on their land but we don't speculate what may be coming in and out of there. We just understand it as NORAD and don't ask much more about it, as a population. All of the focus is on Area 51 in Nevada.

I do not know why Area 51 is more well known than Cheyenne Mountain. In fact, I had never heard about Cheyenne Mountain until now. I do however follow NORAD on twitter. I find them fascinating.

For myself, Area 51 has always been known as the place where an alien body is housed, as well as a ship. Growing up in the West, you just knew that Area 51 is in Nevada, like Vegas is in Nevada. It was not something I have ever giving much thought to.

Area 51 is on our news once in a while when groups go out there. Seems kinda silly to me. What are you going to do? Stare at a fence.

Honestly, I do not know if there is another life form out there or not. I have never seen one. But, I do believe that other living beings in the universe is plausible. Until I have a personal experience I will only wonder.

RE: Just Wondering...
I think there is life out there as well. We are placed in just the right circumstance in our solar system for life to exist. We have an atmosphere, and people are made of carbon, water, hydrogen, nitrogen...all naturally occuring elements in the Universe.

When you think about the Universe, there are more than 100 billion galaxies (that's just what we can count with our telescopes and technology) all which include solar systems. I have no doubt there is at least one, probably more solar system just like our own.

Life on this planet began because of the presence of water, and bacteria. People evolved literally from the scum of the Earth. Could it happen elsewhere? Of course it could. Has it? More than likely. Just from the probability factor I would even go so far as to say it has...and extraterrestrials exist, and are very likely to have been around long before we have.

This law was passed on July 16th, 1969 in the height of our beggining space exploration in the event that we should bring back any life from 'out there'. Our government knows full well it's possible, and wanted to make sure there were set protocols in order to keep a lid on things and be certain that they had the first opportunity to study any life forms which might be obtained.

Area 51 is most highly known because of the Roswell incident from the late 40's. Reports of extraterrestials being taken there for study are numerous...photographs were taken, persona involved have provided eye witness accounts and the government has worked quite hard at making sure the public doesn't really know what happened.

Cheyenne Mountain may not have as much publicity, but in my own mind could hide the same kinds of secrets. The fact is it's the government and they have no intention of sharing what little they may know with the general public.

I basically agree with everything you've said there, but have we been visited by extraterrestrial creatures, or does our government know something about them? Probably not. I used to think that they did and believed that Area 51 had something to do with it, but my opinion has since changed. One idea that i remember hearing that kind of made sense to me was that the government itself has been propagating these myths about UFO's in Area 51 to keep the civilian population away from the true, and original, purpose of the site, which is testing of classified jets and weapons.

RE: Just Wondering...
Kinda funny thing about Cheyenne Mountain. I grew up in Colorado and used to camp not too far from Cheyenne Mountain on a regular basis. Not I'm not saying that this was and alien spacecraft, but it was pretty weird. So me and my buddy are camping at one of our normal spots one night, when he points up and says, "What is that?"

There was a light just over the top of the mountain that was flying erratically and pulsing all these different colors. It was like every single color you could imagine, and it was just zipping back and forth. My buddy is a professional photographer, so he immediately sets up all his gear. Nothing would work, like the batteries were drained. We watched it for a good hour or two and then it finally disappeared. Next morning, he checked all his gear again, everything worked fine. It was a pretty strange experience.

RE: Just Wondering...
Here I go about my brother again 25 year Army Rangers, special forces, sniper, now Homeland security. He never once told me anything he shouldn't, clean military dream. Never married, no children, little contact with family. Married to our government... His favorite saying "I would tell ya, but Id'e have to kill ya" Ha Ha but something in those eyes are deadly serious. One time after that movie with Will Smith came out in the 90's "Independence Day" he said you know Melanie that movie is more true than you can ever imagine... And I said what do you mean that there are aliens? One left he said, still alive? I said. No, but keep in a place like that, but different, built into the side of a mountain. I said like Colorado, he said could be, but it's not like it shows in the movie, not a desert. He said he had been there, and seen it him self. So Top secret stuff there... He doesn't make things up either. He is a very literal person... Hope I'm not getting him in trouble.

RE: Just Wondering...
All things are possible. I've never seen an ET but I did see strange flying objects. I used to be into astronomy in my early teens. I was into stargazing on a regular basis. Once when I had the telescope set up in the backyard & I was looking thru the lens then all of a sudden I saw a green light, like a laser flash in 1 direction then it made a 90 degree angle turn. I then looked up to the night sky & I could still see it. I yelled to my brother who was sitting in the den watching TV inside & he ran outside & he saw it also. I stopped going outside to stargaze after that. We didn't tell my parents because I knew they wouldn't believe me.

Then I had another encounter when I was around 30 yrs old. My husband, the kids & I were camping on our property by the lake in the hill country. The kids were asleep & my husband & I had just layed down to sleep. Suddenly we heard what we thought was a bad storm heading our way. The trees were swaying & the wind was blowing & debris was flying everywhere. We ran out of the tent & looked up & saw a huge flying ship of some sort flying overhead. We looked at each other & I was scared to death thinking that we were going to be abducted. It was huge & was almost the size of a football field & it had different colored lights & the sound was so loud. I ran back inside the tent & hugged my kids. My husband came inside soon after me & we just held onto each other. Eventually it passed over us & needless to say we didn't get much sleep that night. In the morning, I asked my husband if we had been dreaming. He said, "look around you. There are tree branches everywhere! Do you think that was a dream?" We both agreed not to say anything but we packed up as soon as the kids woke up & went to our friends home who had a trailer nearby. We asked him if anything strange had happened last night. He said that the dogs were barking all night. His father overheard us & said that the space ships were over the lake drawing up water as usual. My friend was shocked as his father had never spoken about it before. He said, "what's to tell. People will just think we're crazy & have us committed to an insame assylum." Then his Mother spoke up & said she'd seen them too.
