This is weird. Or am I paranoid?
Sponsor Messages But today something weird happened. Please, I don't mind admitting that this could have a rational explanation and I WANT to believe it is not paranormal, but I just want to talk about it. In my bedroom I have a walk-in wardrobe with two bulbs at either end. Today, I had to pop out to the doctors. My clothes were on the bed, so I didn't need to use my wardrobe. When I got dressed and ready, I checked my house to shut off the lights/windows/lock doors as I am paranoid lol. Anyway, upon my return from the doctors, I go to my bedroom and the wardrobe door is wide open with both lights on. I stare at it, thinking, "That was off when I went out." I admit - this could be my poor memory or something. But me, being stupid, stared at it in silence whilst thinking: "Okay if something turned it on, go ahead and turn it off," and INSTANTLY one of the bulbs flickers twice then shuts off. I freak out and leave the bedroom. What's that about? Coincidence? Can spirits read minds? Or am I reading too much into this? I am trying not to make something of nothing and I don't even WANT to believe this is something paranormal lol. Any thoughts welcome. |

RE: This is weird. Or am I paranoid?
I too would feel odd about it, but it honestly could mean anything, anything electrical.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but i've done that as well wondered how something was open when i know i didn't touch it that day... But, i took it as, i touch i daily it's in my daily routine and i could have very well been in there and because of the rush i have a blank of that morning. Also i assumed i wasn't in there. Just like when i misplace something, i'm for ever ripping the house apart and when i find it, i think to myself 'how did that get here'.... then days go by and i'm thinking how, when all of a sudden i remember my every move one paticular day and remember why i put it there.... Example had it in my hands the phone rang, set it down and completely forgot about what i was doing before the phone rang, got doing other things, then days later am looking for that item.... It's our busy lives playing games with our minds.... RE: This is weird. Or am I paranoid?
I do think you are probably right... I know that we all lead busy lives and I suppose we all act on automatic pilot- just switching things on and off and moving things around without thinking about it. I think in truth the only thing that made me think twice about it was the moment where I said 'Turn it off' and the light went out. If that hadn't happened, I wouldn't have given it too much thought. But as you pointed out, that too can be an electrical problem.... I guess it could have been coincidental timing. |

RE: This is weird. Or am I paranoid?
Ok let me go with this and tell me your opinions....I call it the mischief spirit for lack of a better name.Have you ever in your daily routine felt like there was an invisible person messing with you or your stuff. In a playful or helpful way.
Or this could be your subconscious helping you do things that you are forgetting to do i don't know. But at times i feel like i am being helped along the way by some force and so far it has really been a good one. ![]() And like i mentioned before in a different post at times i wander into a thrift store or flea market just on impulse and find an item that had special meaning to me in the past. Not just your normal find i mean the same exact item that you wouldn't think in a million years you would run into.Am i being directed. Or do other people have the same thing happen to them and not realize it. I am inclined to believe the other realm at times is messing with us. But in today's rigid mindset i wouldn't go around telling a bunch of people you deal with in real life about your opinion on this.Just have to act like a robot like them. “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” ― Edgar Allan Poe |

RE: This is weird. Or am I paranoid?
I don't really go around telling people I see at work/socially about my paranormal beliefs because many people can be judgemental... I agree you have to be careful who you open up to on such matters. I do believe in spirits, and I do believe spirits can mess around or protect us. And some weird things have happened to me lately, however I do try and be open minded and rational because most of the time I am aware that there would be perfectly normal explanations for the things that happen. What happened with the light was weird, the whole timing of the way it switched off, but I admit that coincidence can play a part in that. Anyway I do apologise if this thread seems silly... When things unnerve me or unsettle me, I do have a tendency to need reassurance. |

When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence. |

RE: This is weird. Or am I paranoid?
Now UNR i have no idea what's going on with your computer, but your letting out your ghosts.... I thought you promised this site to never let that happen.....?????As for do i believe in ghosts/spirits.... yes i do, i believe they are out there and there are some really gifted people that can communicate with them. But everytime i feel/sense something or notice something off i don't necessarily jump on the paranormal wagon. I believe everything happens for a reason, and everything (mechanical/electrical) has some issue down the road. RE: This is weird. Or am I paranoid?
I do tend to think it may be a wiring issue...I have had bulbs do that. The door might be a faulty memory...but all of that aside, I totally get why you were freaked out by it.
If I were you, I would take note of it...and possibly have a discussion with your landlord (if you rent) about having the wiring checked if it keeps happening. And also keep taking note of anything like this...whatever is going on, it's going to help if you have it all written down.
