Anybody into or have knowledge of dream catchers

Sponsor Messages
For some reason i have been thinking about these today so i looked them up and found an interesting site. That actually gives some picture help on the making of them.

Dream catchers are very beautiful and the workmanship is really a class act. Does any one here have any knowledge on them .I know i can search but it may be interesting to talk firsthand with someone that is into this hobby and belief.

Here's the info..... http://www.nativetech.org/dreamcat/dreminst.html

One of my close friends makes these...from what I understand, you are supposed to hang them over your bed or where you sleep...and the bad dreams are supposed to be caught in the snares.

I have one, and whether it works or not...it is a lovely piece of art.

I have one of these hanging on every wall in my bedroom, haha. Not only do I rarely have bad dreams anymore (I used to have terrible dreams nightly, but that's a long story) they're also very beautiful and unique, each and every one. I even have a small version on a key-chain ring that's only about as big as my hand.

I am because I need to be.

RE: Anybody into or have knowledge of dream catchers
I have dream catchers and have made them myself, It's not very hard. I have read stories on how dreamcatchers were first made and they evolve around spiders. Each story is different but I do have one favorite story but some of it I'm not sure of,

"For many nights children were having bad dreams in the village and this would pass from child to child. The parents would pray to the Great Spirit to protect their children. Finally all the parents went to the shaman for some help. He heard their cries and traveled to the dream realm to find a answer. He spoke to the element of air who had heard the children's cries and carried the message to the other elements. Finally Grandmother Spider heard the shamans plea for help. She weaved a web to catch the dreams. Air would help the good dreams to pass through the web. Water would cleanse the wanted from the unwanted. Earth would bind the bad dreams to the web. Fire would destroy the bad dreams. Grandmother Spider said that you must hang this above the child's head and they will have good dreams. Feathers were added to help guide the dreams to the child and added a white shell for protection. After her job was finished she in turn turned into a white stone. The shaman returned to the village and showed them how to make the dream catchers. From then on the children slept soundly in their dreams."

A Dream catchers are to catch the bad dreams in webs in the middle of dream cather. The good dreams will pass straight through. Also if you want it work, you need to hang up where the dreams catchers are not block by a wall.. Mid air over the bed, dreams can flow freely

I have an amazing dreamcatcher, a friend of mine bought me one back from Canada. I have it hanging in my room and its like a little piece of art. I have to admit, though, that I haven't really researched dreamcatchers and know little about them.

RE: Anybody into or have knowledge of dream catchers
I bought one at a garage sale that I wouldn't hang over my bed. It had a huge hunting knife in the center. (thats the reason I bought it for the knife). So you can imagine why it wouldn't be safe over a bed.

Now that said I do not remember dreams and haven't for many years. So I guess I don't need one.

When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence.
