forgiven for murder?

RE: forgiven for murder?
I recall some scripture in the Bible that states, when we are present before God with blood on our hands, we are already in jeopardy. I think that commiting the act of murder or unintentionally killing someone can be forgiven. Although war is another matter. When soldiers intentionally kill the innocent, non-combatants, they are murdering people, that is not an act of war.

Dropping nuclear bombs on entire cities kills indiscriminately. What do you call that? I honestly believe that we are judged as individuals. God looks at our heart, and His judgement is tempered with mercy. Being a part of some military force does not give us a license to kill as we please.

In US history, the "trail of tears" comes to my attention. The Cherokee were given blankets that were contaminated with a disease called "small pox" from some other unfortunate human. It would have been more merciful to line them up and shoot them. I am in some small part Cherokee, and I find the whole affair as something wicked. Would you call that an "act of war?"

I completely agree with you:"that we are judged as individuals" and to be judged by His mercy and most important by His love and there's no license or blessing for killing or making any other sin when it comes to that matter because the sin stand between us and our Maker like barrier and that it's not good thing at all.

If you want to get into the whole morality issue of murder...then the question should be re-worded.

I can't speak for all religions...I know that in Christianity, there has been a lot of killing in the name of God...far too much. And do I think God forgives someone for using His name for their own agendas? No I don't.

Do I think God forgives the soldier, who, in the heat of battle and with no other choices before them kills another human being? Yes I do. Do I think most people in that situation have trouble forgiving themselves? Yes I do.

Thanks for writing that Scareygirl,as you know my sons a soldier and i think about what he has done and is going to do in October. I struggle with my thoughts when it comes to this, i cant even write it down................. I cry sometimes too, it hurts me to think about what he has done and what he is about to do...............BUT, he has a job to do, and he does it, as for forgiving him, Yes, you have to, it would only eat you up if you didnt.

His girlfriend called him a murderer once.........only once............she will never call him that again at least not in my presence i honestly nearly knocked her block off, i SO wanted to punch the living daylights out of her, but i didnt lol. That hurt me so much, and if she thinks that about the soldiers,,,,,,,what do other people think???

Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell's afraid i'll take over

She has no right to call him a murderer or judge him because she was'nt there on his place and thus does'nt know nothing in what he's being trough
and finally if she truly love him she would'nt dare to say something like that
I'm sorry if some how i upset you or offended you.

It is so sad how we people a quick to judge and slow on showing mercy and understanding, compassion for someone and even for beloved ones.

Dizzi, the fact that you restrained yourself when your son's girl called him that...you are a stronger woman than I am for sure! =)

I am reminded of a quote by Jose Narosky...."In war, there are no unwounded soldiers". Those scars stay with you...the emotional ones more than the physical ones. I know that the love and support you give him will help him when it is over.

May your son come home safely, along with all others who are serving.
