Sponsor Messages i had heard of this case a while back, never really thought much of it. i saw the movie the other day and was a little fascinated, i thought it was exaggerated on a whole new level, i mean way over done. so i watched the doco discovery channel done a while back, it was a little more watered down, however i still find events as extreme as this difficult to believe. i found half of it believable and the other half, well i'm not going to go into that. so i ask you people of the forum your verdict. |

RE: a haunting in connecticut
Another case of a hoax, people were trying to use it to make money and cover up real crimes. They were also trying to use it to break the lease. They had heard about amityville and how they made money off it so they were going to do the same thing. Once again look who was involved.... The Warrens.
http://www.livescience.com/strangenews/0...movie.html Still have doubts? Read the interview from the writer Ray Garton. http://www.damnedct.com/dadgummed-interview-ray-garton/ Example: Ray Garton: I was offered the job, and because I used to read of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s exploits in the National Enquirer when I was a kid, I took it. I went to Connecticut and spent time with the Warrens and the Snedekers. When I found that the Snedekers couldn’t keep their individual stories straight, I went to Ed Warren and explained the problem. “They’re crazy,” he said. “All the people who come to us are crazy, that’s why they come to us. Just use what you can and make the rest up. You write scary books, right? Well, make it up and make it scary. That’s why we hired you.” When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence. |

Well duh lol of course it's going to be over exaggerated it was a movie, some of the things that happened in the movie were based on true events but most of it was real exaggerated. They only made it that was so it would be interesting to watch. And it would be kind of a thriller type because when I watched it, it kept me on my toes wondering what would happen next. So they intentionally made it that way so the movie wouldn't be boring. Life is not measured by how many breaths you take, but by how many moments in life that take your breath away.

RE: a haunting in connecticut
I agree with UNR's post and have read those articles...I've also visited the websites that promote the story as true. Just like Amityville...everyone on both sides is adamant about their argument. Any truth to the actual haunting would have been lost long ago in the misinformation. "When you feel like a toad on the highway of life... and everyone seems like a steel-belted radial... when you're lyin' there squished in an assortment of bodily fluids... at least you left your mark." ~Arnie Dogan, "The Red Green Show" |

Agree. While both stories made great movies...its really hard to prove things like this because it could happen to one family (such as in Amityville) but never happen again. So who is to say really Faeries, come take me out of this dull world, For I would ride with you upon the wind, Run on the top of the dishevelled tide, And dance upon the mountains like a flame. RE: a haunting in connecticut
I watched this movie when it came out but only because it's in the horror/paranormal genre which I like. Generally, any movie based on a so called haunted place and events that occured there aren't real or are really exaggerated for entertainment.
