Set it up and send the files to me...lol! My own curiosity would have to know what might be captured...but then that's me.

Regardless what is really going on...and even if this does end up to be a child with an active imagination, it never hurts to be supportive. Continue to tell your child you love them and believe in them...it sounds like you already are doing a wonderful job of that.

And yes...being a spirit sensitive is hereditary. It's in your boy's blood sweetheart.

It might be interesting to encourage your son to ask his 'friends' name. Then do an obituary search at the library and check the census for past years. You might be surprised at the information he is able to give you and that you just may be able to confirm. Do some research and let us know what you find...

While I agree with UNR that many children have vivid and even overactive imaginations, sometimes that is not what is occurring. It's important to know what is occurring for your son whether it be imagination or more. I have 3 and they all had vivid imaginations. Two have various gifts. .

My two cents,

When I was about 5 years old I shared a room with two of my brothers, and I watched these solid black creatures that looked like a cross between a bat and a flying squirrel crawl on the floor, moving toys around, crawling up the walls, but never directly coming into contact with me.

I was nearly fifty years old before I learned from my older brother that he also saw these things. He said they would play with our toys and such. I always thought it was my imagination, which still scared me half to death. I suppose that even children try to rationalize what they witness.

I would sleep on my stomach, placing my feet, toes down to hold the blanket tight. I folded my arms under my chest and pulled the blanket over my head. Even now, I can bend my toes 90 degrees upward. Sleeping that way went on for many years and eventually became a habit. Now my feet dangle off the end of the bed. I bought a mattress that was too short for me. Ha! Go figure.

I just wanted to say an extra special thank you for sharing that jeff. I know how hard it is to be a child experiencing these things and find out only decades later that you were validated.

I think setting up a recorder as LK suggested is a not only a great idea but pure validation if you were to record anything.

I would hope it would remove the fear not enhance it. Somehow for me, it is always easier to deal with the known rather than the unknown. Then you know what you are facing. JMO As you know by now from PMs, I, too, think your child is gifted and perhaps much stronger than you or other family members.

I dont have a tape recorder so I'll see if my brother has one I can use. I definately will post it on to you Lady Kamae! I really dont want to hear what may be on the recordings. Especially if its something in my son's room. I probably wouldnt let him go back in his room ever!

I agree Lady Kamae - it never hurts to be supportive of a child whether what he's experiencing is real or his imagination.. who knows he may end up a great author! I'll try pry more information from him but sometimes the more I push him, the sillier his answers get.

For some reason I sleep similar to how you did, except I curl on my side with blakets tucked all around under my feet, back and clutched in my hands with the blanket over my head. I'm not sure why though. I just remember as a child I'd be very scared of the dark and just wanted to hide from whatever could have been out there!
