I will second this - even if you do not video the session, I would recommend using multiple audio recorders. Redundant audio may help you identify the 'non-paranormal' noises more clearly so you are not wasting you time listening to those 50 times. When doing so, (unless you have recorders that have time-stamps) make sure you start all of your recordings at the same time, so if you hear a creak at 53 minutes, you can reference the sound on the second recorder more easily

Another suggestion (Don't worry, I won't flood you on your first attempt) is to give a few seconds of space between questions.

Something else you might try is a trigger object. For example, if you know that the spirits of children are present, you could use a bouncy ball, or a picture book to try to get a reaction from the spirit.

I got a very clear direct response to a similar experiment at my last investigation. I was showing the "children" some pictures of princesses and asking if they would like to see them.

A little girl's voice can be heard saying, "Yes, yes."
