Deja Vu moments

Sponsor Messages
I have honestly had deja vu moments at LEAST once a day for as long as I can remember, that's at the very least. It's not just small things, but like when we went to Michigan the first time, I felt like I had traveled that same exact road before and when I seen my in-laws house I had a very distinct impression I had been there before even though I never had.

And when I went to my dads funeral, I had the same impression that I had experienced this before. I mean, I had experienced funerals before, but I felt I had the feeling that I'd been to my dads before, does that make sense? I'm trying to word it right. =/

It's weird as heck when you're riding in a car or even just doing nothing important and you feel like you've done that exact same thing before.

The reason I put this in the dream section is because I'm wondering if maybe I haven't dreamed these things beforehand and then when I actually do them I have the deja vu moments, though if that's the case I don't remember the dreams at all.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

RE: Deja Vu moments
I have...once it turned out that I had actually been at a place and just didn't remember it.

And it is possible that you dreamed something that was similar, and it came to mind when you were traveling that road. Experiences that are similar can be in our memories, and when something triggers that memory...it can feel as though we have been somewhere before.

Now those are some of the natural explanations for it...I don't think that those explanations cover every experience. We have several threads on it here if you would like to check them out also.

RE: Deja Vu moments
I have experienced it before at different levels. Sometimes it's just a slight impression of being in the place before.Or sometimes it may be stronger, and more of a feeling that i may have dreamt of the place.

It's definitely one of the hardest experiences to explain in real world thought, because when you think of it your going to get into multiple possible meaning's or causes.

Concept's like premonition's,fate, reincarnation, time space continuum just to mention a few.

Even your more simple explanation's like your imagination thought you may have been there before.Or your stress level and emotion's about the place may have caused the sense of this.

RE: Deja Vu moments
I think it's just an anomoly of memory. The most widely excepted explanation for it is an overlap between the neurological systems responsible for short-term memory and long-term memory.

RE: Deja Vu moments
My experiences are similiar to Rolands. Have them all the time.

Something else I experience that is weird is dreams coming true. I wish I knew why, but can't explain it.

RE: Deja Vu moments
Melissa, many people have precognitive dreams ....some filled with people and symbolism...some verbatim events. As far as deja vu, yes, frequently.

RE: Deja Vu moments
Hi there,
I know just how you feel, I had it yesterday and I have it often. I have come to believe that it my mean we are on the right path in life that we should be.

So it is a good thing, in my mind. If you go through a dry spell where you don't have it for a day or two. Maybe we have fallen off track. And then here it comes to show us we are back on it...

But I agree it does feel ever so strange. But after awhile it is comforting...

RE: Deja Vu moments
I have had Deja Vu many times, even today.I don't know what theory is true, but I definitely know the odd feeling of same situations over and over, and sometimes we don't need to live through the real moment to think that we lived it through before.
I red somewhere that scientists say that similar things happen and our brain reacts in a way to collect all those things and put it a new happening just for our brain to understand that. And that is why we have that feeling because our brain send it,and it actually didn't happen for real.

RE: Deja Vu moments
I'm just like that. I don't like it at all. Even thinking of something was the same as the "deja vu" dreams I have that I don't remember.
I get deja vu everyday because of those dreams.

You could just be experiencing something that occured in the past, something that has triggered your memory, or it could be related to reincarnation.
