Not a cop-out. Not everyone has to agree on religion, or beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs without ridicule. It is called tolerance of others religions. You can believe what you want.

RE: Who created God?
Just thinking about this question makes my head hurt lol. I would think that we lack to ability to totally understand something like this, I think it would be like trying to understand quantum physics without having a grasp on basic math, only much harder. I'm not traditionally religious in anyway, but I believe when we reach a certain point then some of this stuff becomes more clear, for now it's still fun to think about.
There is a catholic story I heard once. It was about a Saint walking on a beach trying to understand God. While walking we sees a small child digging a whole in the sand. The Saint stopped to ask the child what he was doing. The kid reply's “I'm digging a hole to fit the ocean in.” The Saint laughs at the child and walks off. It isn't until later that he realizes it was a message for him. I also like the Buddhist saying; When the student is ready, the master will reveal themselves (something like that).

RE: Who created God?
as a child my question was similar but put in more pragmatic terms. If God was the first one, who changed his nappies when he was a baby? Never got a clear answer from my parents on that one!!

And their actions are exactly why tolerance is necessary for any kind of communication to happen. Those particular groups AREN'T tolerant, for reasons either real or imagined...and look where it is getting the world with that kind of mentality.

Anyhoo, back to who created God....I believe it was Voltaire that said "if God did not exist, man would find it necessary to create Him". It's something that can go around and around, with no real way of knowing the answer.

But it is a fun question.... Icontexto-emoticons-04-032x032

RE: Who created God?
No offense to anyone's opinion about this question, but who says that God is created or must be a creation? We are creation humans, animals, trees, planets....It,s within human fallen arrogant mind to give rational answer to everything and anything and to put himself(his mind) to measure and criterium for everything, but the human's mind(spirit) alone is limited(without life with God) and it has beginning and end.God has no beginning and no end "He" is an existence before every existence a transcendental Being, He is an archreason, archlife and archbeginning for every existence for every life He is a Life "I am Alfa and Omega".He had created His creation from nothing before but He is not created He simply Is "I am who I am"and I think that this is the moment that every human's thoughts had to stop wondering about who created God and accept this truth with faith, because only with our rational mind without faith we are like bird with one wing.

RE: Who created God?
My claims are as follows:
1) God was not created;
2) God is not a being

Reason is: Everything happens with time. Subjective time is something that is man-made. (We made clocks and timed our days. We dated our years) Objective time would exist outside of human existence. That being said, it can exist outside of our universe's existence. It is the linear progress forward that everything, including existence itself is slave to.

God cannot be slave to anything. God is also perfection. Perhaps, God is just existence. Not a being, not an entity, but the space and reason for which everything can be, and is. Humans cannot identify with something that is not personified. Therefore, we personify God. What if that isn't the case?

That's my previously long-winded speech, condensed into something smaller to handle.

If we find out you created God, Then who created the creator of God? Then who created the Creator of the Creator of God? lol its never ending...

But what if its not like that, Religions tell us that he just always was, most of us just cant seem to accept that but maybe its just something we dont grasp? What if Our human minds just aren't capable of that kind of thought and understanding? Interesting to think about...

Im not particularly religious but I would like to believe in a God I really would but its hard for me, Im the type that needs proof, I dunno though, these are thoughts that have been with me sense I can remember, and they will continue to be until something truly happens that there is unquestionable proof that there is a god.

Are you guys religious? Whats your thoughts on this?
