What's the worst that could happen?

What's the worst that could happen?

Sponsor Messages
Okay. I'll admit it. I have warned several people on this forum to stay away from Ouija Boards. I have told them I think it's a bad idea. I have always believed, somehow (irrationally?) that it could invite BAD things into people's lives.

But for some reason.... lately....I'm tempted.

I can't get it out of my head to use one. I'm close to purchasing an antique one I came across.

Should I go ahead with it and satisfy this newfound curiosity? OR should I take my often cited advice and keep away from it?

What's the worst that could happen -really?

Yes, the non-believers will say go ahead, because it's just "wood and writing." People who have used it may say nothing happened.

But to those who have used it- where your experiences always negative/scary? What's the worst that could happen?

Please give advice before I go ahead to use one.

Thanks Smile

If you and or your partner on the planchette believe it to be evil, chances are your mind will create something. If you don't believe then nothing will happen.

When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence.

You really need to go in with a clear mind. The more you think of something the more likely it will happen. I don't overly understand what causes the planchette to move (I mean whether or not it is definitely our minds or something else out there) but if you remain positive in your thinking, you are more likely to have a pleasant experience with it.

However, I steer clear of them as I have (as stated in an early thread) had a negative experience with one.

If there's even a shred of doubt in what you're doing, yet you still want to do it, I would recommend protecting yourself. Pray or otherwise invoke spiritual protection around you and whoever does it with you. I see no harm in trying something to satisfy your curiosity. Better to argue a side based on experience rather than ignorance.

What would you do if you knew nothing about me, yet I said that I'd protect you with my life, then died doing just that and later you discovered I was someone you would've hated had our paths crossed under different circumstances?

It's all just one big *facepalm* around here.

Andrasta- That's partly how I felt; getting experience on something to understand it isn't such a bad thing. But I didn't want to try anything that messed with my head- and some people do claim that it can do just that. Wether the bad things result from psychological fear or the paranormal, both can be scary to someone experiencing it and I am always cautious about that type of thing.

GhostsandMore -If I did use one, I'd DEFINITELY use some sort of prayer of protection....I wouldn't use one without. What prayer would you suggest?

I'm the one who suggested prayer. Tongue I'm not sure what prayer would be used, but I'm sure others would have more insight. I only know the other side of the coin.

Hi Fiona,
You said you were considering purchasing an antique Ouija board. You already probably know this, but please use a cleansing ritual on the board to remove anything that the previous owners of it brought forward into this realm.
Afterall it's better to be safe than sorry. Smile

Everyone here has given you good, sensible advise..as far as what prayer to use...I never use a specific prayer for anything. I just talk to God. Sometimes out loud! (I like to bug people).

To me..it just doesn't seem necessary. I really do believe that spirits are around us (personal opinion)...and I just don't think we need a board to communicate with them.

RE: What's the worst that could happen?
Here's the thing, the reason they are dangerous is that demons must follow a set or rules, the first of which being they must be invited. Open a Ouija board and invite spirit contact and you just opened that invitation to any demon roaming through looking for a hospitable human. Even properly closing a board won't shut the door to the demonic. They are much easier to invite in your house than to get rid of.

If you ultimately choose to play with the board knowing this possibility be sure to protect yourself with the prayer of Saint Michael...

"Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen."

Personally, if there is any doubt whatsoever about your spiritual maturity I would stay away from the thing. I've used the board to close them for others who had lasting effects, and I can verify that the 'contact' can last long after the board has been put away and assumed to be safe or 'offline'.

Ranging from nothing and feeling "stupid" to punshing an opening an opening to another dimension, though that has never happened, and I can only repeate what I have read. Generally, I'd go with nothing.
