RE: What's the worst that could happen?
Were most of the spirits seemingly positive ones? Also, can I ask what the best way of closing the board is? By the way- I haven't used one yet, and I don't think I probably will, but I still like to be informed. |

RE: What's the worst that could happen?
You're welcome Fiona.
I have to say at one point I was terrified. The messages coming through were about 3AM and how we were going to be cut up in CARNAGE. A reference to a DEITY relating to THREE SIXES. That was the worst of the messages. I was pretty certain it wasn't a demon, but when you don't exactly know you don't want to carry on to find out! The location we were at is probably one of the most haunted locations in the UK (The Ancient Ram Inn) and filled with negative entities. Witchcraft (of the negative kind), Satanism, sacrifice and the site of a pagan buriel ground (on an area where two ley lines cross). It is filled with negativity. Closing down is usually done when the spirits want to go (out of respect), but with negative entities I don't think they deserve the same kind of courtesy. When the spirit goes to "goodbye" it is usually the best time to try and close down - others still can try to get through, however. Best thing to do is to say good bye out loud and wish them well. That is usually the way we close. Everyone has their own ways of doing it and the best is doing what you feel is comfortable. When I am on my annual leave on Thursday I am planning to write up the report of the Ancient Ram Inn, which will cover the full session of the Ouija Board where we got those messages through. It will be published on my site - so make sure you have a look! We already have a few stories of our ouija board sessions online! |

RE: What's the worst that could happen?
Wow! Your night at Ancient Ram Inn sounds amazing- and freaky!
I've always wanted to go to Ancient Ram Inn. I have heard so many things about it- and I also saw the investigation that the Most Haunted Team did there.... it was so atmospheric. I'm jealous of you! ![]() Sounds like you had some pretty nasty entities coming through. I know I would've personally been frightened. Thats the kind of encounter that always puts me off using Ouija. Oh, I'd definitely want to read your full report about it! |

(05-25-2010 03:18 AM)Fiona Wrote: Okay. I'll admit it. I have warned several people on this forum to stay away from Ouija Boards. I have told them I think it's a bad idea. I have always believed, somehow (irrationally?) that it could invite BAD things into people's lives. Fiona, Using a Ouija or not is up to you alone. What has changed so much that you are willing to essentially "call" an invisible, unidentifiable spirit, typically liars telling the truth with a seed of poison in the messages? What is so important that you need to resort to communicating with the so called "dead?" God created us to be a higher order of creation than the angels. Should we rely on other lesser authorities than God? Pray about it. jeff Forgiveness is next to deity. |

RE: What's the worst that could happen?
Jeff- I suppose my most genuine and real reason for wanting to try a Ouija Board is that I believe in spirits (not just in demons and negative entities, but in souls like you and me), and I thought it would be an amazing experience to chat to somebody on the other side.... It really means no more or less than that to me. The only thing putting me off is that most of the time, it is the negative spirits that seem to make themselves known, and I am of course wary of that. That's why I'm split down the middle...

RE: What's the worst that could happen?
Typically you just get lots of lies and threats. The thing I am studying with the group is the way the glass moves (and stops) and also whether or not it is us subconsciously pushing it. We are conducting a few experiments with them in the future (actually at the Ram Inn again...we are so lucky to have a goldmine of activity 20 minutes away from where we live).
Hopefully then, when approaching the subject from a double-blind research method, the only way we can get certain answers is if there is indeed something on the other side... |

I agree, TheresNoQ. It will be interesting to see the results of experiments like that. You'll have to keep us updated, GhostsandMore.
One more question, GhostsandMore - weren't ANY of the spirits you contacted positive ones that just spoke with you? I always wonder why it has to be so negative. That's the only thing that kept putting me off, really. I don't want to sound like a big baby but if something threatened me in a harsh way in a Ouija session I would feel uneasy, I admit. |

RE: What's the worst that could happen?
At the Ram Inn, yes, all that came through were rather negative. The time I used one before was at someone's home who wanted to use one. It was slightly more positive then, but I suffered quite a bit afterwards - seeing shadows and the feeling of being watched. Similarly, the activity was said to have been quiet in the home when I was experiencing things and then the activity was worse than ever whenever I wasn't experiencing anything away from there.
I kind of see it as the board only draws certain people - like-minded people seek the same hobbies etc. I feel it may be the same if a spirit world existed. It is a common theory that ghosts remain here (if they do exist of course) due to unfinished business. Generally this is quite negative (even if the original unfinished business was of a positive nature). So you probably have a lot of bitter spirits about, filled with distrust and anger. These are the ones that probably get drawn in to communicate with it. I don't think you can be harmed using one. A fellow investigator did get a punch in the back (he wasn't even using the board) and physical attacks are known to happen at the Ram. The only thing is that they do play on your mind. We have recently told someone to stop using theirs as they seem to be getting obsessed with it - predicting harm to himself and his baby. Approach them objectively and keep an open mind. Lies do come through so take everything that is said by it lightly - and don't read too much into it. Otherwise you may become quite emotional. As for being scared by it - as I said, take everything said lightly. Keep positive and I'm sure you will be ok. I will admit at 3AM I was terrified of what would happen, but that was more fear of the unknown rather than the board. My report is now up - so you can read what happened in the ouija board we did. I certainly will keep you posted on our future experiments. I'm open to constructive criticism from people who are open minded. It's much easier trying to work on better ways of executing the experiments than defending myself against people who just rubbish the idea or claim it is definitely spirits. |

RE: What's the worst that could happen?
![]() I read your report of your investigation a the Ancient Ram Inn. It was really interesting! You had quite a lot of response from using the Ouija Board. Do most of your Ouija Sessions successfully pick up communication or is it hit and miss? Sounds like it was a really good night. Thanks a lot for sharing the link. I've added the site to my "favourites" as you had some great stuff on there. In response to your post above, I suppose if I were to ever use a Ouija Board I would accept that most, if not all, of the responses will be tainted with lies or tricks. I know I certainly wouldn't trust it. May I also ask (sorry about all these questions!!) does it matter how MANY people use the Ouija? Supposing it was only two? Is that enough energy to allow communication? Also, why is are there always warnings against one person using it? Thanks for all your responses. |
