RE: Why Dolls?
Great thread, GypsyMoon
![]() I am in the middle with this... I actually think some dolls -especially porcelain dolls- can be elegant and beautiful. But some are just totally creepy. I think it's the eyes - they can seem so life like. I rarely have nightmares, but I do remember one night I had a horrible nightmare about Chucky the doll from Child's Play running around a shopping centre, trying to catch me so he could kill me! *freaked me out!* I suppose I can't be TOO frightened though - considering I have a large model of Chucky the doll in my lounge- carrying a knife and everything LOL. Spook-e: You said you sold a doll that you thought was haunted? You probably could have made a lot of money for that considering some individuals seem to seek out haunted objects to purchase....can't think WHY they'd want to invite that into their home but some do!

RE: Why Dolls?
Okay...I know it's probably somebody just out to make a little extra money, but read this from an auction on eBay..isn't it creepy?
Meet Ivy... Selling starting at 99p as I no longer want her in my house. She was found in the loft of my cousins new house, with some old clothes etc, she dumped most of the stuff but kept the doll. She sat her in the spare bedroom, but at nights heard creaks, when she went to look, the chair she was sat on was rocking slightly. According to her, there were no windows open or draughts in the room. She gave her to me as her young daughter hates the doll and is terrified to go anywhere near it, which is strange because she never mentioned the weird sounds to her little girl. We've been calling her Ivy, she's made of porcelain, I'm unsure of her age or any details. She has a few marks to her clothing, and her hair is a bit dusty from cob-webs in the loft; but I would rather her not be in my house any longer. BID AT YOUR OWN RISK. I WILL NOT ACCEPT A RETURN!! Shall I bid for this to see what happens? A sort of Talk Paranormal Experiment????? |

RE: Why Dolls?
No way Fiona! It is likely hype, but she gives me the creeps.
I'd have to wonder why a porcelain doll because they're pretty pricey, was relegated to the attic amongst old clothes and junk. LOL @ you owning a Chucky doll.
