Hi there, I will tel you a little story that went thur. I have dreams where I am frozen in time. But my eyes still see and know what is going on around me. I am wide awake and I can look around the room and I feel something is in the room. I look around and see it jump in the corner of the room. Me not able to move scares me half to death. It jumps over to the next corner and my heart is pounding. Then my body starts catching up with my eyes. I am now awake knowing it was there and when I say it is was a reaper. But what was interesting when it jumps to the other corner. It was a dark purple and then it changer to orange. Seeing something that was as real as anything mkes me what if i was near a death experience. Thank You |

RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
I have experienced Sleep P. since 18 years olf - now in 40s. I never know when it will occur but last week I felt this entity literally jump on my shoulder and hold my wrist down! I was frozen. I said a Hail Mary and it went away. I'v ebeen told it could be a simple sleep disorder -- to it being an entity. So I don;t know who to believe. Anyone else to share or help me???? and now my eye twitches! Anyone have that?

The feeling of not being able to move or shout or talk...Oh it was just awful My mother suffers terrible and she sees the same vision everytime of a woman? and the woman just comes closer and closer to her. Doc said its when the brain is awake but the body still thinks the brain is asleep..I dont know. Or is it dreaming while awake? Its difficult to know...Its horrible though. |

RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
I have experienced it before since I was about 12 years old. It doesn't happen often but when it does happen now, like always,I have the feeling I'm not alone in the room, and am very frightened. As I've gotten a bit older, and I'm aware it's happening, I tell myself to open my eyes and lean up from the bed. First, I can feel myself trying to lean up, only to get slammed back down, nothing touching me or anything it just happens. I lean myself up just a bit just to get slammed back down again. When I finally do get my eyes to open it stops completely and I have control of myself again, and the fear is gone.
It's a weird experience that doesn't happen often, and I've never been able to link it to anything like stress, or anything so I'm not quite sure what triggers this weird sleep paralysis, but I'm interested in finding out how to prevent it or understand it. I've spoken with a doctor about it, of course, no help there, and never taken drugs so I have no clue what SP really is. |

RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
I never knew there was a term that described what I go through at least a few times a year. I think what causes mine is the fact that I am very aware of my surroundings, so when I fall asleep, I am aware of this transition some of the time. I also think this is why I can control the episodes. I can't say that these episodes are ever peaceful. It feels like someone is using a jackhammer on my body, and I feel and hear vibrations (the weird vibrations tend to be prominent in my ears when this happens) which I mistake for excruciating pain. The thing is, I know there isn't pain, yet I think I feel pain. Then as soon as I wake myself up, I am very peaceful, no aches, no pains, nothing.
My episodes only last a few seconds, I never let them happen longer than that. I feel like I can't move, however I KNOW I can move, which gives me the ability to wake up on command. Do I think an evil presence is trying to enter my body? I am not sure, I am a good person, and there is absolutely no chance I can be taken over by evil, perhaps that is why the episodes last only a few seconds. The vibrations are quite scary, but I never am afraid to fall asleep because it doesn't happen all the time, plus I do have control over it. It's strange, it's like going through different dimensions, I really am not sure what this is all about. Whatever scientific explanation is out there, I don't know what on earth would cause a body to think it feels pain and unease while at rest. |

When you talk about having control of it...that almost sounds like lucid dreaming. Are you familiar with that at all?

RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
I don't know much about this but I read your link. What I described above, I can't move for a few seconds until I am aware. The longer it takes me to become aware, the more ringing I feel in my ear drums, and the more I feel like a magnet is holding my body down. After a few seconds, I realize I am in control, and this is when I wake up. I'm not sure if this is lucid dreaming or not, maybe a combo of both?

RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
It's very possible...and definitely worth looking into.
Have you been keeping any kind of a journal about it? I would write everything down about it that you can...seeing it written down in black and white sometimes brings it into a clearer perspective. It can also help establish patterns. Keep us posted for sure.
