RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
I have read in several different places that our bodies become naturally paralyzed when we go to sleep. Then if we only partially wake up we are still paralyzed and that is where a confused state comes in and we experience what is known as sleep paralysis. Perhaps there are some other so-called scientific explanations that might make more sense but this makes none at all. I have never known of anyone to be 'paralyzed' while they are sleeping. In fact it is just the opposite - they toss and turn and do a lot of moving around,

become unable to move, etc, etc. Scientists call that..anxiety or panic attack. But, that is the description sometimes when an entity imposes itself upon our body and mind, if it is not invited or agreed upon. They are very sneaky. It's the only thing that does make sense. Many are only vulnerable when sleeping. It the greatest opportunity for spirit to make an attempt or several. My belief is that many just don't talk about it, for fear of the medical field imposing their cures, which involves being labelled. Granted, there are a few who do have medical reasons, but I think they are far fewer than what spirit takes adavantage of. |

RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
I touched on this in my "What Are Shadow Entities?" thread here, but where there are many bio culprits that can be attributed to this disorder ranging from Hypnagogic hallucinations and night terrors to classic "old hag syndrome" the perceived malevolent presence that is often accompanied by the spectacle of a shadow entity is the unifying factor and recurring theme that seems to defy the consensus of many that this is simply a sleep disorder ....

My partner has experienced this, he's told me that he's unable to move or shout out for help. He's also described feeling a presence. It's happened to him twice now.

RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
I've had sleep paralysis many times and i see nothing paranormal about it. This is something i said on an article about it on True Ghost Tales.
“Actually sleep paralysis happens to everyone they just don’t remember it because they usually fall asleep again. The brain turns off the muscles so that your body doesn’t act out your dreams. While the brain is in REM sleep it sometimes wakes up but is still in a dream state. This is usually accompanied by a feeling of an entity being in the vicinity. It’s nothing supernatural.” |

RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
Have you spoken to a doctor about it, Rainie? That does sound like it's happening too often...I would rule out a sleep disorder or something stress related first...but I think SP is something that can have more than one explanation.

RE: Have You Ever Exerienced Sleep Paralysis?
>< no i haven't. I was reading about it recently and well, my parents would think im nuts. lolz (im azn, they find explanation for everything xD) like the first time it happened, my mom told me about the ghost sleeping on you thing, so i don't think she'd agree with me going. :/ She's all superstitious and well, she doesn't think i need a doctor. more like a medium...
