RE: Strange Occurences
As far as the sounds from the attic...the steps I used to hear turned out to be animals that had gotten in and were burrowing around up there. So make sure that's ruled out.
I have found it helpful to document activity when it is going on...and documenting everything else that is going on as well. If there are patterns, they are more easily seen when written down. I do agree with UNR about the New House Effect...I've recently looked into that debunking some past experiences I had. Please keep us posted about how things are going...and yes, any other information you can provide (without giving out personal info of course) would be helpful in anyone being able to assist you. Anyways, we live in a house that he and his kids have lived in for a while. We live in an area of the country that is reported to have several indian burial grounds, etc. Well, my stepdaughter decided that she wanted to move into her brother's room when he left to go to college. We helped her get everything moved and then the first night she came running into our room and ended up sleeping with us because she saw some sort of shadow that walked towards her. This room also used to be her uncle's room, who is rumored to still live in the house.Hello and Congrats on your marriage!!! As a Native American myself, I can tell you that more times then not, Burial Grounds are the first knee jerk reaction to many hauntings. I think one of the best places to start would be by researching your house, property and the surrounding area. Look for other happenings, things that could account for the activity. Including, but not limited to recent events with in a 10 mile radius since the "sightings" had begun. Second, I think that keeping a journal is always a good idea. See if you can establish a possible pattern, links to daily activities, weather, general household mood etc... You may want to try sleeping in the bedroom in question, to see if anything happens to you while in there. Allowing a digital recorder to run overnight in the room OR attic is not a bad idea either. However, I would caution against this unless you are completely ready to either hear what may or may not come through. Sometimes NOT hearing anything is just as disturbing, as we so want the immediate validation. I did have a few questions... How long had your husband and family lived in the house before you moved in? Had they ever experienced anything unusual, BEFORE you moved in? The Son who went off to college, did he experience anything while sleeping in that room? AND... finally, LOL... How old is the Daughter who took over the room?? There are things that you can do, as far as Ceremonies... Smudging, etc. to protect yourself and your Family. I would be happy to walk you through these if you would like. Please feel free to contact me via Personal Message if you would like any of that information. Know that you and your Family will be in my thoughts!!! Please keep me updated, OK!!?! I really am here to help if I can!! Your Friend, Ojibwe |

I also agree with UNR that the new house syndrome could at least be partially at play here. Journaling should be very organized and detailed. It should include dates, times, people, events, feelings, and any external conditions like weather, remodeling, etc. Have there recently been changes to the house other than the son moving out? updates/remodeling Indian Burial Grounds: May or may not be an influence depending on where they are located. The questions posed re: happenings prior to you moving into the house is very key. That's not to say you are a cause at all. It is merely to find out if there is a history of events however innocuous they may have seemed to someone at the time. It would not be uncommon for them to have been dismissed as irrelevant. What happened to the uncle and when? Details are important. What are the rumors about him still living in the house? Has anyone encountered him and if so how and when? Obviously, something or some things occurred or it would not have been mentioned. What time of day were the girls in the attic? Their ages? Their personalities... calm, level headed, high strung, excitable, attention seeking, etc. Did they both see the form? Did you or your husband go to the attic and if so what did you find and if not, why not? Did you hear the foot steps or were you even home at the time? I agree walking can be squirrels or other animals that gained attic access. Can your daughter draw images of what she saw in the bedroom and the attic or describe in detail? What do you know about the EMF of the house or area? Close to power lines? How old is the house? Has anyone researched the land ownership? Has anything happened recently in the area that would be deemed a trauma? Where is the mother of the children? Nearby, deceased? As far as saging the house or having it blessed, I would be more inclined to not do that yet until you journal what has happened and see if other things occur. The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind. - Kahlil Gibran |

RE: Strange Occurences
I totally agree with the research research research...once you start eliminating possibilities that way you have a clear cut answer to causes. Property, history of local area, past ownerships.
