RE: Today's Vampire Craze...
That is horrifying. For years, this is gonna be on her mind. She's gonna look at her son for years and wonder if he will be healthy. Very sad.
I just don't understand people these days. What on Earth would possess a person to scatter viles with blood in them? Hopefully, the fingerprints will lead them to the idiot that did this.
This is a little off topic, but this story got me to thinking about all the weirdos out there. A day or so ago, I read where a lady went through a Target stabbing people as she walked by; numerous people, including a mother holding her baby. She got her in the neck. I would look up the story for you, but I am on the crappy computer today and downloading the story above took 10 minutes...
People are sick. I will keep this kid in my thoughts. (Why do kids have to put everything in their mouthes?!?!?)

RE: Today's Vampire Craze...
Seems suspicious to me. A vial of blood will coagulate in under 2 hours into a kind of gelatin if not refridgerated, it doesnt remain liquid for long at all...I know this from working at the hospital way back when. Makes me wonder if this was purposeful in some way. I might have to keep track of this story and look for updates...

Once again all I can say is WOW!

Mathews police officers are investigating, but said there is no criminal wrongdoing thus far.

According to state law, any vial containing less than 20 CCs of blood can be thrown out with regular trash and doesn't have to be treated as hazardous waste. The vial Giovanni drank from held 10 CCs, or half a teaspoon.

Yeah, LK, I didn't think of that. But it would still be kinda gooey (gag), huh? It wouldn't be hard. So maybe he could ingest some of it. ???

RE: Today's Vampire Craze...
In the story it was stated that there is a doctors office next door to the apt. complex. And that the blood found could have come from there. It is possible that the blood found was from a fresh draw (not probable though, i think)
It is also possible that the blood in question may have contained an anticoagulent. Thus keeping it from clotting. The worse the economy becomes the more desperate people become. Crime goes on the rise and people begin to feel like they have nothing left to lose. Others eventually snap and go around stabbing people in the neck. (in reguard to IG's post).
It is all sad and unfortunate that these things are happening. I feel for the family going thru this and the little boy who has to keep getting tested now. It's not like our lives aren't difficult enough now, they have to add this to their worries.

Amen to that, Ellie.
I'm the kind of person who needs answers, reasons. There is just no suitable answer or reason for this.
