But our heroine is seriously outnumbered, and with only one chance to save the lake and her family from totally being devoured, she must risk everything to destroy the aquatic carnivores herself.

Richard Dreyfuss??? Cool! I never thought he'd do another creepy fish movie after Jaws!

I remember the original Piranha.....it wasn't my favorite movie or anything, but 3D sounds cool!

I like that they're doing a campy creature feature spin to it.

I mean, look at it. It's a previously thought to be extinct species of fish that is let loose by an earthquake. I hear that there's a sequence where a huge crowd of partygoers are attacked by the piranha and they used so much fake blood that the whole lake was red for weeks after.

I can't help but want to see this.

I remember the original one came out a few years after Jaws...it just didn't have the same impact. Of course it wasn't in 3D either!

I agree...especially with the campy spin on it, this one is going to be worth seeing.

Well, the original always was intended to be a parody of Jaws.

One interesting fact is that the original movie was director Joe Dante's (The Howling, Twilight Zone: The Movie, Gremilns 1&2, Small Soldiers) breakout project and the sequel, Piranha II: The Spawning, was James Camerons first movie.

The trailer has been replaced (since the last one was removed).

Also, here a look at the French poster for the film, which has a strong resemblance to the poster to the original film.
