I thought I'd add a little more to particular things you may see in a picture other than orbs, and their names. trueghosttales already put in a wonderful description of types of orbs you could see.

Vortex - This is usually a funnel looking object in the picture. Some say it is probably a portal of some kind between worlds, while others claim it is just something caught in the picture that was very close to the lens such as the camera strap.

Apparitions - A full length spirit in their true transparent form. Some claim they are impossible to really catch on camera.

Dark Shadows - A shadowy figure that have been known to be seen moving around rooms before.

Ectoplasm - A smoky appearance, believed to often be a spirit caught on camera. If you're taking pictures be aware of cigarette smoke, or any kind of fog or breath that could find its way into your picture. Try to prevent these type of ingredients in the air where you are shooting.

Super-Charged Energies - These appear as streaks of light, maybe like a lightning bolt.

Anthropomorphizing - Human appearing objects (think eyes, or ghostly face) in objects (tv, mirror, window, etc)
