Goddess dream

I'm hesitant to put this under the Wicca/Paganism section because, quite frankly, I don't know what it is myself. I've asked everyone I can, but they're either away from keyboard or don't have a clue either.

Here's the story.

A friend of mine got into the topic of past lives last night. My friend encouraged me to modify my typical sleep habits to try and remember my past life. Typically, when I go to bed, I meditate on the day, pray a little, and 'tune' my mind into giving me answers when I sleep. I meditate, ask a question mentally, (things like 'How will my day go?' and 'Why does such and such happen?'), then go to sleep. This night, I asked myself, 'Who was I in my past life?' and went to sleep.

I didn't see images of my past life, or if I did, I don't remember them. I remember two scenes, right at the very end of the dream, both connected. The first scene had me looking at a web page dedicated to Persephone. I read a few lines. I remember Hades being called a 'dirty old miser' (which is weird considering I don't think Hades had that much wealth), and that Persephone was able to 'chase away the grays of winter' (technically true, depending on how you look at it). I scrolled down, and saw a list of all the deities and spirits Persephone interacted with. Out of all the names, one stood out, the name 'Lady Anne of *something*'. I don't remember what that something was, because the scene changed.
I was then in the middle of a cave (looked like a cave, it was certainly gray enough to be a cave), holding something high above my head. I said in a commanding voice, "I am Persephone daughter of-" And then I woke up, at an earlier time then I usually do.

What really stands out to me about this dream is the way it stuck to me throughout the day. For an hour or so, I walked around the house in a daze, not eating, not doing anything. Then I got onto my computer, opened my downloaded diary, and wrote down the dream. When I got onto the internet, I did all sorts of research on Persephone, trying to find the web page that I saw in my dream, even though I knew I wouldn't be able to. I told a lot of my friends about it. I don't know why, but this dream struck me to my core.

I'm actually surprised this dream was so simple. I typically have very, very complex, long dreams that I remember for months afterward. Funny how the simple dreams can have such a huge impact on you.

RE: Goddess dream
Very interesting dream.

What would you do if you knew nothing about me, yet I said that I'd protect you with my life, then died doing just that and later you discovered I was someone you would've hated had our paths crossed under different circumstances?

It's all just one big *facepalm* around here.

I heart Sandra Bullock.

RE: Goddess dream
I'm not sure what the dream would signify, or if you indeed got any glimpse into a past life..but I do agree that the simple dreams that stick with you just might be trying to show you something. It's the simplicity itself that stands out..many dreams are so convoluted, by the time you're done deciphering them, you've already moved on from what the meaning was about, lol.

LOL isn't that the truth. By the time I figure out what one dream means, I find its no longer relevant to my life, as I've either made my choice, for better or worse, or the good or bad thing has happened, and all I can do is marvel at the dream's relevance in my life.
Still, I'm wondering if asking myself to remember my past life was the trigger to this weird dream. If I ever get in contact with my aunt, who suggested I start training myself to dream in that way, I'll ask her for her thoughts on it.
