I'm giggling myself cause that sounds like something i would have done...

I wonder why she had rings on each leaf??? What could THAT possibly mean?

If you find any extra info, can you post it here i'd love to know more. What i'm wondering and what's boogling my mind is why she put rings on every leaf????

RE: Voodoo Plant
I had to giggle LOL, when I read this but I sympathize with the Lady and her plant the Plant was her Talisman and familiar . She was energizing it and protecting it from evil spirits with the rings were they copper? Or gold? and also to judge people. Touching the plant you possibly mixed energys with it. She sat it out to see if you would touch it.
That means it was to judge you or to cast on you good probably if she was a friend. snipping the edges was assuring the Talisman, familiar didnt take in your energy. Dont feel bad anyone that touches any of my talismans or occult objects I cleanse and purge just to be sure.
This type of magic is more Santeria then Voodoo although the 2 sometimes merge.
Familiars and Talisman can be anything with energy usually plant or animal think of a "Rabbits foot" or "Chicken foot". Hope this answers your questions.
Although I dont know what type of spell she might have cast I am positive it was sat out deliberate.
Blessed be

RE: Voodoo Plant
This is something else, I have never heard of someone using plants as there familiar. But Santeria is different. We have lot's of Spanish people from Mexico, and that is common with them. They talk about different things, witch bird a bird with a human face, they are scared of it. And they paint there houses really bright color's like bright pink or bright blue to keep away evil spirit's. It is very interesting, the differences in people ideas. I love to hear there story's. People from Mexico are some of the nice's people. Family means everything to them. This I do have in common, and respectful very, another thing I feel is very important... Mel

RE: Voodoo Plant
Santeria is different from Voodoo you are correct but in magic they do get crossed Like what is a Poppet for me is a GriGri doll for someone else and so on.
Santeria orginated in Cuba by the Yoruba people who migrated to Nigeria. Like Voodoo they even use saints to represent there dietys and so on. Same With Witchcraft it Migrated and passed on to different cultures who added little things Even though not related the bases of the magics and spells and rituals remain the same.
Kinda like all the different types of Christianity? Its roots are similiar due to migration.
Here is a site that speaks of Italian witchcraft and how to raise a plant as your familiar. http://thegoldenbough.webs.com/raisingap...miliar.htm
Many Witches do this not just Italians and its also practised by some "Rootworkers" and Santeria people as well.
