If someone really wanted to summon a demon (considering if demons do exist), I would think the person does not need a Ouija board to make this happen since it is nothing more than just a prop. I would think the act of trying to communicate with a demon even without a board could summon the evil spirit. What do you believers think? Do you think we should fear the Ouija board, or should we fear our own actions instead, and realize that the board is nothing more than a prop?

And here is something else to consider. Would it really be dangerous to play with a Ouija board for fun, without the "real" intent to summon an evil spirit? I would think no. Just because you are fooling around does not indicate true intent, and without true intent, I would think Ouija board or not, it would be impossible to summon the demon (again, if demons exist).

This is a good topic to disscus. We have the power to summon demons even without the Ouija board. Even if it is for fun you can still bring somthing into the room. I do think that in most cases it can be dangerous. The Ouija board is just a tool it's like carrying crystals or tarot cards. You can get messages with your own power but they just increases you power so you will get a clearer message. When you said about fear.........I don't think that it is something that we should fear bacause it's something that you take at your own risk wether or not you bring something through.

RE: You Don't Need a Ouija Board
I think fear is the key concept in board use, and while I don't believe "demons" are a problem, in the independent spiritual entity sense, a person's own "demons" may be, so while I don't think boards are ever truly "dangerous" in an objective way, there do appear to be some people, usually the ones that wind up using them, that appear least well-equipped, mentally or emotionally, to be able to handle the activity and approach it with critical thinking.

Ouija Use 1992-1996: 1.5 sess./day @45 min./sess. (1.13h) @83.4 days/yr @4 yrs
Group: 500.6 sess. = 375.4 hrs/4 yrs
Personal Partic.: 67% = 335.4 sess. = 251.5 hrs/4 yrs
Current Conclusion: Ideomotor effect and suggestibility

Just curious - how do you know demon's don't exist? Believer 123
How do you know they do?

There'sNoQ hit the nail on the head there in pointing out that the issue is the individual - their own demons, beliefs and emotional vulnerabilities.

As has been mentioned - a Ouija board (home made or bought) is no more dangerous than a gun or a doughnut or perhaps I should say "Ouija boards don't contact the dead - people contact the dead" or what they perceive to be the dead.

I've done many Ouija Board sessions and I see three things common to them all:
The ideomotor effect coupled with social compliance.
Deliberate fakery by one or more sitters.
An overwhelming expectation bias and the need to believe in the boards efficacy.

As for demons and the ability of people to summon them...at the very least show me the camcorder footage of a summoned demon, show me valid evidence and not stories or passages from the bible - show me your demons.

RE: You Don't Need a Ouija Board
Hi. My opinion is that if you have any sort of psychic abilities you might want to be careful with the Ouija and other occult items unless you know how to protect yourself. No one knows 100% truth on this subject, just be mindful of what you might invite into your life.
