handprint bruise
When I was about 15 I woke up one morning from a friends house (which we've declared 'haunted' as it's about 100 years old and her youngest sister is absolutely terrified of one room in particular), and until one of my friends in high school pointed it out - I had no idea what happened. I had a handprint bruise on my right arm. It was perfectly shaped like a handprint, but it didn't hurt like any bruises i've ever had. I wasn't in any sort of a fight or anything and I didn't have an explanation. I've tried googling and searching for what exactly happened since I don't remember any sort of a ghost encounter from around that time. The bruise lasted about a week and then vanished.
It's been four years since that but its still a mystery if it was a ghost encounter of some sort. When i was younger I remember having experiences at night where i would wake up positive I was screaming or something but nothing would come out and i would feel like i was being pushed into my bed at night. (I barely remember that but it's significant enough to me to recall.) uhhhhh |

RE: handprint bruise
Something of the sort happened to me once a long time ago but there was a logical explanation for it. I had blood drawn or maybe it was when I had the norplant inserted in my arm.
I just remember that the next day there was a perfect bruise in the form of a hand on my upper arm that lasted about a week or so that was very painful and ever so ugly. Sucks to be me, (pun intended) |

RE: handprint bruise
Just because the house is old, it doesn't mean the house is haunted. People can get strange feelings in a particular room for many different reasons, high EMF, gas leaks, etc, can cause these feelings. The bruise can be caused by many different ways. You could have been dreaming and grabbed your arm during the night. Infact, since you were sleeping in someone elses house, a not particularly familiar house, this can be caused by many things.
Your experience of screaming and nothing coming out can be sleep paralysis, which can be terrifying but not supernatural. |

RE: handprint bruise
Hmmm...strange. Maybe you just bruised easily? My roommate gets random bruises all the time, and last year she was on medication that caused her to bruise even easier. She had a handprint bruise in that time, as well. And I'm quite positive our university residence is not haunted.

RE: handprint bruise
I agree with Bracket. Not every house that old is necessarily haunted. You have to consider the age of the wiring and all the other utilities, like he said. Unless someone has a fortune to invest in an old house, outside of buying it, wiring and such changes are made on an as-needed basis. Some of it may never get changed. So you need to take stuff like this into consideration.
What would you do if you knew nothing about me, yet I said that I'd protect you with my life, then died doing just that and later you discovered I was someone you would've hated had our paths crossed under different circumstances? It's all just one big *facepalm* around here. I heart Sandra Bullock. |

RE: handprint bruise
if your in a place that your body/mind or just you in general is not familiar with you will do strange things in your sleep scratch grabe even bite yourself and you woulnt even notice.
and when a place is old or you get a strange feeling doesnt mean its haunted your mind and body reacts differently to things: EMF, hight pitched sounds you dont even notice, colors, and many other things. RE: handprint bruise
Andraste and Bracket covered it very well. As far as your friends younger sister being scared in one room it may have a fear cage. this is a room with high emf's that cause your mind to feel scared.
A cheap way to test this is get a compass and go in the room and watch for the needle to spin. To learn more about the compass method you can read about it here. http://www.hollowhill.com/guide/compass.htm When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence. |

RE: handprint bruise
Has anything else strange happened to you in the past 4 years?? I do agree with the others here, it could have been many things.
Pride and Fear always distort the truth into either a false sense of security or a lack of confidence and diminished self-worth.
