Re: Astral Travel Herb Theory
I've never heard that before. I'd be interested to hear more.
Heck, I'd even be willing to try it if I thought it would work! |

Yes, mugwort is actually sold in witchcraft shops or shops that specialize in the occult. You can also buy it online if you don't have any shops like that in your area. I've used mugwort before (I made a tea with it) my dreams are very lucid anyway... that just put me right over the edge. I practically flew away the moment I closed my eyes. It could just be a placebo effect though. Who knows? Good luck. ~Melle |

RE: Astral Travel Herb Theory
As with all things, it can have its benefits...but it also has side effects and possible harmful interactions. This page has some good info on it that you might want to consider.
http://www.personalhealthzone.com/herbal...fects.html And here's a page with its health benefits. As with anything, be careful how much you would take, as high doses can be toxic. http://www.greathomeremedies.com/herbs/mugwort.html Annnnd....here's a bit about it's uses as an herb to enhance dreams. "Mugwort is revered by almost every culture that has come to use it. It is one of the nine magical herbs of the Druidic and Anglo-Saxon tribes and was associated with protection of travelers and with fertility rites. The Native American tribes used Mugwort as a smudging herb to clear and cleanse sacred space. It is also believed even today that sleeping with sprigs of Mugwort under your pillow will produce vivid and clear dreams." RE: Astral Travel Herb Theory
I can not stress enough the importance of researching all herbs you are wanting to use for anything. Even if you are just placing the herb under your pillow or burning as an incense. You never know if you will have a reaction.
Now on to mugwort....If you burn it, it stinks! But I use it alot before I do meditations and vision work Faeries, come take me out of this dull world, For I would ride with you upon the wind, Run on the top of the dishevelled tide, And dance upon the mountains like a flame. (William Butler Yeats, "The Land of Heart's Desire," 1894) |
