I've had an experience in my farm home in Calgary when I was a child. I was sound asleep in my bed on the ground floor of the house, It was about 4 in the morning when I was literally woken up out of a dead sleep and with no concious intention I began walking towards the stairs to the basement.

This basement is creepy in full light let alone just before dawn. Its an unfinished basement, cold and dank with large exposed boulders andexposed beams from the house supports. I started walking downstairs slowly...something I would have never done at the time with the light off, walking down into pitch black. I got about a quarter way down the stairs then saw two forms appear in front of me, like the shadows had shape, but not a hard shape they were soft but always moving like they were charged with static electricity or something, very creepy. I snapped out of whatever i had wrong with me, went up to my bed and just lay there till morning, very creeped out trying to figure out what happened.

it cld be that some spirit impelled you to venture down there to witness this.As for what it was i cant be sure,as it didnt seem to be a negative experience,it suggests this is more likely to be spirit who were just wanting aknowledgement (wanted to be seen) as for the way in which they presented themselves,maybe this is the only manifestation they were able to show themselfs as,or...they were mid materialising when you witnessed them.

At the time we first started seeing Shadow Creatures, about 12 years ago, we didn't have a pc, so I couldn't just get online and search about them. I did think it was really weird that when we did get online and I searched them they were called Shadow Creatures, because at the time my youngest son was 5 and that's what he called them from the first time he saw them. Maybe they somehow told him what they were. They are also referred to as Shadow People to though.
I have seen some things that just made my hair stand straight up, but with the Shadow Creatures I've never felt that cold, eerie feeling. Even at 5 my son wasn't ever afraid of them.
Maybe they're not bad spirits, maybe just stuck here and need to be acknowledged from time to time.

Maybe it was just a dream or nightmare. sometimes people can't distinguish between something that happened in a dream and something that happened in reality.

Did you consider the possibility that this may be such an occurrence ?

I think your all wrong because "Shadow People" are actully demons that live off of power and electricity and they like to make the power go out and this could be a solid theorey of why people have strange random powerouts, maybe since they are "shadow" people they need the dark so they can corupt people by striking fear? you can just look this up on wikipedia.com for info on these things

The closest thing I've heard about static charged shadows was when I was staying at a friend's house and I woke up late that night in the living room couch I was sleeping on. When I turned around there was my friend sitting on the recliner and her little sister sleeping on the love seat. What I saw shocked me, there were these small blobs of shadows that kinda looked like the static that you see on your t.v. They were all over her sister, mostly around her wrists and ankles. Her sister then started tossing, turning, and mumbling. Finally, they were gone. I asked her what in the world was that and she told me they are called shadow vampires and they feed off of your energy. I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this before?
