Consciousness survives death?
Sponsor Messages It was this: "We know that when we are anaesthetized, we do not jump when pricked and we do not recall being pricked." And this made me pause for thought because we know that during an operation, if we're under anaesthetic, our consciousness seems to go, to be "missing," or disappear for a while. This then made me think of the hundreds of thousands of people who, whilst being operated on, or even dying, talk of "popping" out of their body, being able to watch everything that's going on etc. Then this got me thinking. If our consciousness "goes" during an operation, during sleep, under certain circumstances, then could it not be quite easy to believe that this consciousness survives outside of our physical bodies as a seperate entity? (As NDE's might suggest). Our consciousness is not a normal brain function, it isn't really about reacting or making choices, but it is more the "core" of who we are - the emotional, feeling, spiritual side of us. Maybe being "unconscious" is like saying that our soul, who we really are, has "left the building" so to speak. Can it die? Sorry, I'm just rambling. |

RE: Consciousness survives death?
Its just a part of it all now. I will say I am convinced it does go on, and for a short while after death there is a window where communication in the form of images or signs(material and witnessable...although spectacular) is possible. I have experienced it many times, too many to be coincidence. Best to just accept it and live as though goods and money are really not worth the effort. besides, did you know if these things are true, they are not paranormal they are normal. |
