RE: Animals....Pets that haunt.
I had a shi-tzu named ozzy for 13 years, he passed away in 2003 right before my dad passed. He had been ill for along time, and finally his kidneys failed. A few months later we adopted Scooter who is now 6 years old. Ok, Ozzy has always been with us, so, now and then scooter sees him as i do. Mainly in the kitchen sniffing around for food,,lol....it really freaks scooter out,lol...
Scooter is our baby, and he is part shi-tzu and part chinese pug. A hand ful i tell ya!!!! But a joy at the same time. We call him our constant 2 year old.....He is the most affectionate dog i have ever owned, and i have owned many. Pride and Fear always distort the truth into either a false sense of security or a lack of confidence and diminished self-worth.

RE: Animals....Pets that haunt.
I have an interesting story that i could never really explain. On Sept 18, 2001, my dad passed away of a brain annurisim. I took my husband and children down to Calif. to attend his funeral. My four siblings and my mother who was divorced from him since about 1978 were all there as well. It was a very sad funeral because he had basically been astranged from us all since he left our family. We all had seen him at different times during the years but not very much. He seemed to put up walls and not let loved ones to close to him. This was very hard for me because I had been very close to him as a child. I had taken my 3 boys and my husband to see him only once, and then after that time I for the most part lost touch with him. this was not my wish, but his. We were all there at the funeral, and i noticed there was noone else there but his family. I thought it was so sad that he had no friends there at all. I later found out he had no friends. After the funeral we went back to an aunts house to have a wake for my dad. When we all arrived there. We noticed this big fluffy dog was sniffing around. He was so friendly and When I asked my aunt what his name was, she told me she had never seen that dog before that day. My aunt has 40 acres in Sonoma. The dog hung out with us all day and into the night. We petted him, fed him a ton, and the kids played with him all afternoon. I think we even gave him a name, but i can't recall it. The next day there was no sign of the dog anywhere. The kids called and looked for him all morning. He was gone. Later that day we were all sitting around talking about our dad and how sad we thought it was that he was gone. We talked about how much he loved animals especially dogs and cats. Someone said, Hey wouldn't that be something if the dog that was around last night was really dad. We all had a good laugh, and later I thought actually I really would not be the least bit surprised if it was my dad just trying to spend a little more time with his family that he pushed away while he was alive. Just something to think about. |

i've read a story which the girl who wrote it says that a ghost dog attacked her! She didnt have a dog as pet, yet she claims that the dog actually bit her!... She could actually see the bite after the dog disappeared so she claims it wasnt her imagination!
I’m not a lady I’m a wolf! |

RE: Animals....Pets that haunt.
DP I am so sorry about Little Bear. Take comfort she lived a long life for a Chow and in a home that loved her.
Animal spirit do come back. They dont seem to last as long as a human spirit that comes back. I think it may have to do with the animal consciousness. All through my life I have had many animals. The ones I loved the most, mainly my cats, several have come back to me with in the weeks after their death. Most had been with me at leas 12 to 24 years. Even though I am sensitive to this, it was always a bit of a shock to me to be visited by my beloved pets. |

Nothing visible but we could be standing in the kitchen doing dishes and feel something stretch up tapping on our leg. Nothing there, that we could see. First I want to say I'm sorry for the loss of your Little Bear. I had a 10 yr old handicapped chihuahua that we had to put her to sleep last March. She had fast moving cancer. She was my lil baby girl, her name was Mia. The day I took her to the vet I stayed with her right up to the end. You asked about if your Little Bear's presence may came around. Yes it is possible. She is your baby when you love a pet like it was your human child they become your child. I know about the presence because a few nights after Mia passed I woke up and went to move my legs and I felt her laying right next to me like she always did. There are times I can feel her by me sitting on the sofa. One time I was boiling chicken and move back a step and I felt her behind me. Mia love chicken and would stand behind me waiting for her pieces of chicken. She never barked due to her handicap. But in the morning if she wanted to wake me up she would make a tiny snort sound. There have been a few times that I get awoken up by this sound. It makes me feel good knowing that she is still with me. love and miss you dad |
