H.P. LOVECRAFT'S GRAVE

Sponsor Messages
H.P.L.(1886-1937) is buried at the Swan Point Cemetery, in Providence, Rhode Island. Lovecraft's ghost is said to haunt thr grounds. Fans of his stories attend an annual tribute around the time of his death-March 15- in hopes of expericing his presence. Apparitions of Lovecraft himself have been reported. He is believed to always attend his tribute in some way and gives a sign of his presence.

The notion of picking one time of the year to be decent to other people is obscene because it's actually validating the notion of being miserable wretches the rest of the year.

Personally, i doubt this. Every cemetery with a famous resident always seems to be haunted by them. I don't just disbelieve this story but basically all similar ones.

Well, just thought I'd share what I had come across. I can't swear to it as gospel but there might be some truth to it.

I think ol' HP would get a kick out of it...I could see him being part of this vast universe in the afterlife....looking at all of us saying..."You guys still don't get it...."

Thanks for bringing it up, GH....whether it is true or legend, it makes for a fascinating concept.

RE: H.P. LOVECRAFT'S GRAVE
So maybe its not haunted and folkks do not do weird stuff there but it can't be any weirder than Poe's grave where someone/something always leaves flowerd on the date of his death and has never been seen, let alone caught.

Yes...the Poe Toaster. Ol' Edgar couldn't have written a better mystery himself! And I do know that Lovecraft has a very loyal following...I would imagine that there are many who at least feel like they have experienced something at his gravesite.
