RE: Red Protection / Cleansing
I have heard of using Rune stones...but to be honest, I don't know a lot about them. They are used much as tarot cards are from what I understand...if I'm wrong, someone please correct me. As far as them being a particular color or being used for protection, I have no idea.
Was it possible they were talking about crystals? They are often used in protection...the closest I could think of to a red one would be a rose quartz...but again, I'm mainly throwing out guesses. That's what I've always understood....I know that Warrior and some others are more versed on crystals and stones....but I have heard the same thing you have about the quartz.

I have no idea either Buzze, I've heard of people using stones, but that's something I've never tried. I do know that supposedly some types of quartz are used to ward off spirits.

RE: Red Protection / Cleansing
I honestly have NO idea. My crystal books are all at home. IF she was a gypsy or romani woman then throwing the stones in the yard makes sense. They are very superstisious people.
This does peak my curiosity tho, Faeries, come take me out of this dull world, For I would ride with you upon the wind, Run on the top of the dishevelled tide, And dance upon the mountains like a flame. (William Butler Yeats, "The Land of Heart's Desire," 1894) |
