Alright so there's been alot of talk lately about spirits that watch over us, usually a friend or relative that is near and is trying to communicate, interact with or even protect you. I'm a spirit sensitive, and have been in contact with a multitude of spirits in my lifetime. This whole dead loved one thing though...I am not so sure I buy it.

My daughter has shared with me since she was 5 or 6 years old that her deceased great-grandmother talks to her almost daily. Iv'e known about this the whole time and never once tried to discourage her.

My grandmother has never tried to contact me though, not even once. Then again, I never much liked the old bat. That woman was my description of a psychic vampire. She would suck the joy in your life right out of you. Bake her a lasagne, and it would have been great if you hadn't put in mushrooms because she hates them. Buy her a sweater for Christmas, and she would have preferred to have a robe. Nothing anyone ever did for the woman, was good enough.

I also tried to discover my spirit guide once. I admit I did receive answers, but none of them made sense to me. I asked her name, she said "Sophia". I asked her to reveal herself to me, and saw a beautiful pale woman with long blonde hair and a white victorian collared shirt. I asked if she was an angel, and she said "Yes". I didn't get much further...because I didn't believe in the answers I received. When she told me she was an angel, I was done. Through all of my research on the subject, and my demonology I know that can't be true. I attempted no further contact.

I guess we each have our own gifts. I know being a 3rd generation sensitive that my mother, myself, and my daughter share different gifting and qualities of them. I have absolute faith in God, but not so sure I want to trust an 'angel' named Sophia. Would you?

RE: Spirit Companions
I have several but not by choice. had them for several years.

The notion of picking one time of the year to be decent to other people is obscene because it's actually validating the notion of being miserable wretches the rest of the year.

RE: Spirit Companions
I've never really believed in spirit companions or guides because i've never seen anything that seemed like an otherworldly being was protecting me.

Angels wouldn't look human, would they? I mean, they might have some human features, but an actual angel wouldn't look like that...I wouldn't think, anyway.

Actually, I tend to agree with you. I have seen angels more than once. What I saw, appeared nothing like a human. It was an electric flowing mass of bright, almost neon blue light.

This is why I didn't attempt to contact Sophia again. I knew I was being deceived. Had she answered anything other than yes she was an angel I might have trusted it.

RE: Spirit Companions
I was told by a psychic that my guardian angel's name is Marylin. I have never seen her or had any direct contact with her that I know of. Do I believe we have spirit companions? Sometimes. What or who are they? Don't know. What is their purpose? Not sure, because I know there are a lot of times that "Marylin" could have saved me from and didn't. What do they look like? I know what my son's looked like, but I don't know what mine or anyone else's looks like. And I don't know what realm they come from. Just like people lie in this life, I am sure they can in the after life or the life that has never been made human. So whether is an "otherwordly" being pretending to be Great Grandma or Sophia or whether they are really Great Grandma and Sophia... Don't know.

I think the whole idea of a guardian angel is romantic. But where is the guardianship? And I don't want to hear "It could be worse..."

RE: Spirit Companions
I know that I have spirit guides...and that they have saved me at certain times. I witnessed that the night of the fire. I also know there are other deceiving spirits and demons who lie and say they are good.

As far as direct contact....I have only heard angels sing....and I have spoken with spirits both demonic and family alike and this has always happened through my dreams.

Darren came to me in three dreams after he died. We sat under the tree in my front yard and he told me he was ok and in a good place. I wish he were still with me.

RE: Spirit Companions
This is still really buggin the fire out of me. Today I looked up some info on Saint Sophia. I know saints aren't angels...but who this Sophia is, well it's driving me batty. Worse yet, I shut her out and refused to have contact with her again...but a few days ago unbeknownst to me before and I posted this thread my daughter saw her too. Great, I have an angel stalking me.

I'm kidding, I still think I am being deceived.
