Sleep Paralysis / Old hag Syndrome Various Names

Well maybe he will buy the book, and then he will know what he is dealing with! There are alot of people afraid to tell anyone, I did tell a couple people and it didn't go over well, so it mainly why I am writing it, so people will know.

Believe it or not these experiences can really change your whole personality, you are exhausted, and it seems like a horror novel has come true in your own room. It really freaked me out, I missed a lot of sleep and a thought I was under some sort of demon attack, as many will tell you. Like I said before, I lead a normal life, had a great job, great family life and boom.. I am getting nightly visits from something that felt so evil, that I was out of my mind with worry. Most the time there was just a lot of talking and I couldn't understand what was being said, and then one night as plain as day, I felt unseen arms wrap around me and whisper in my ear in the deepest, evil voice that I had ever heard, say " I will never leave you alone"

Imagine that, slept in that same bed for 15 years, with no problem, and the all hell breaks loose within a couple months and then that was said to me. I was not really religious, but that changed in a hurry. I prayed, burnt sage, followed all the lore and boom, gone. What really blew my mind is when it started happening to my boyfriend. I knew then this was not some normal medical condition.
It truly reminded me of the movie the entity.

I was not a real big on the paranormal either. I did not disbelieve, but really didn't have any experiences, except for thinking I saw a ghost or two throughout my life, but something like this will turn anyone, just like it did with your xhusband, if he wants to admit it or not. Something is just not right.

I am almost done with it, and am really excited with the data I have collected. I really hopes people in one way or the other, but mainly just letting them know, that they are not alone, they are not mentally ill, now we just have to putll together to find out what it is.

haha ok i came to my own conculsion that if i don't get enogh sleep i probly will get paralysis. It was my conculsion for a while. Well at least that was the pattern i was seeing in me.

And also my conculsion in why it is from not sleeping well is "some scientist studeid and discovered that paralysis is caused from a sleep chemical to clam your body down when asleep. In some events at night people sudden jump up there bed from a dream in were they are going to crash or somthing horrible and the brain inables you to institly wake." from (Jason Offutt:auther "Darkness Walks"). Which makes sense to me .

but they also said "in paralysis people see and hear things when really they are dreaming " from Jason Offutt. this was the only part i could not agree and nor they could prove that spirital part. but the rest on what they said i could agree with and make sense to me.

just throwing that out there, from my fovorite podcast "mysterious universe"

Well I really can't find anything amusing about this experience at all.

My main beef with the entire scientific community is that something as horrific as this experience, is that they have not given studied it as much as they should have. This is a horrific experience that people are killing themselves over. It deserves more study and not just guessing. We are talking about at least 20 percent of the population that have reported some type of incident. Who knows what the exact numbers are. I have been studying this for a long while now and feel more like a social worker than anything as people are in tears and don't think they can go on. It is far from a joke.

There are definitely two types we are dealing with one is a normal type of SP, and one is not. Fortunate for you, you have not lived with it night after night, like some of these folks. These guys are sleeping normally, eating normally, not on medication. They are awake and sometimes even have witnesses to dark shadow type figures.

I will not even pretend to know what it is. I hope it is not something evil, but it is something that is increasing and needs to be addressed. It needs to be something people are not afraid to talk about, more information needs to be available and lastly more sleep studies need to be done. Ignorance is not bliss in this case. Most people have no idea what happened to them and the imagination will run wild. It will continue to run wild until they can come up with some answers that the entire scientific and medical field agree on. At this time they do not. That does not give the people that suffer from some pretty terrifying experiences a lot of hope.

Once they have all agreed, then it needs to be known to the public just as much as the common cold.

I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone the happiest of holidays these last few weeks. I have taken some time off, to spend with my family and of course, just some time off in general.

I have only experienced sleep paralysis once.
It didn't feel pararormal, although I am open minded to the chance that evil entities/spirits might like to spring themselves on poor unsuspecting people whilst they are at their most vulnerable.

During my one and only experience of this, I woke up on my back in the morning, found that I couldn't even move my tongue in my mouth- it felt stuck to the roof of my mouth! My hands were above my head, but they would not move, I felt stuck, frozen, then almost as suddenly as it was there, it went, and I was normal again.

I found some really interesting information that I have written on my blog about already, but will fill you guys in probably tomorrow. Another theory floating around there that is a good read and is a very interesting view. Some of it is kinda star trek, but it is a good read and another possibility that we can add to the list.

Be Very Very Grateful. It sounds like you have had a mild sleep paralysis experience which I call type 1. Believe me you would know the difference.

Ok, this is what I was referring to the other day. If you know your bible, you know their used to be giants that walked the earth. The confusion is where they come from some say outside our earth or where they fallen Angels. The point being when God flooded the earth to be rid of these impurities as they had mated with our women, and the offspring were evil (among his other reasons), well the flood only killed the body the Angels were using as a host, and thir spirits lived on as they were immortal. Here comes the weird part. These demons high a very high sexual appetite and it is them in spiritual form visiting the men and women that have felt violated by unseen hands. Women have claimed to have felt actual penatration and such, trying to keep this a rated G post, but you get the gist. Please remember this is another theory, that can take place once we arer under the SP

I guess instead of old hag or sleep paralysis it was spirit guides then. Again just reporting on what I read to give you guys something to think about it.

SLEEP PARALYSIS IS NOT STOPPING. ONE NIGHT IT JUMPED ON MY SHOULDER BREATHING AND IT ELD DOWN MY LEFT WRIST. I PRAYED THE HAIL MARY AND IT WENT AWAY.

Ok, this is probably going to throw the whole thread off into a different direction. I consider myself spiritual and definately not religious. Jesus and the Bible...sorry i don't buy it, but my childhood does include christian teachings so some part of me was built on these christian beliefs. As an adult though i choose the more spiritual.

I've been thinking alot lately. Nomatter what religion you choose one thing they all have in common is prayer. Yoga. Meditation. Even my own culture. Native American. We all get together and pray and, key word/thought, FOCUS our good thoughts and energies to a certain person. Therefore being able to accomplish great things, even miracles.
So with or without prayer, if lots of people get together and focus positive thoughts and energies toward a certain goal...miracles can happen. I think prayer if a form of doing that. Focusing.

So...that's why i think prayer will work to help people get out of these SP's. They are praying because they want to regain control of their bodies. So they are focusing on that through prayer...and it works.

I once had a most horrific dream which i feel was demonically induced. I started reciting the Lord's Prayer and was able to wake. I was upset and scared and crying but i was awake now and the dream was over. Prayer is focus.
