Haunted Locations-Bentonville,N.C.

A small area just inside of southeast N.C. that happened to in the way of W.T. Sherman's 60,000 to 100,000 Union troops with orders to march to and capture Raleigh, the state's capitol. Oppossing them were Confederate troops under J.E. Johnston, with his 50,000 troops at best, more or less. There was a farmhouse owned by a Mr.Harper, whose home was going to serve as a hospital for both sides during aand after the battle. There took place a 3 day battle from March 19 to Marcch 21. Simply put, the Confederate troops were completely outclassed and surrendered, Sherman marched into Raleigh, though without the damage he inflicted to Columbia, S.C. After the home became empty, there were stories of lights floating about the house, strange sounds, and cries of pain, like one would hear when a leg or arm was amputated. Some saw the house burning in the inside, burning people at the windows and people moving around inside. Later it became a state museum, though no one seems eager to be the last one there at night or the first there in the morning.

The notion of picking one time of the year to be decent to other people is obscene because it's actually validating the notion of being miserable wretches the rest of the year.

I go back on the anniversary of the battle, as it can get darn hot there plus the farmers doen't fancy to just anyone walking through their crops uninvited.

I can't say that I blame the people who work there not wanting to be the first or last ones there...I bet that place goes on the buddy system!

It does sound very interesting. Have you ever seen anything there that made you wonder? Paranormal-wise, that is.
