I never said I found fault with Gods word. Why would you act like I did? This isnt about you - what I know and what my opinions are are not about you so if we disagree it is not just because I want to disagree with you ![]() If you were to really take a look at the original language you would discover that in many cases there was a problem when translating into English and I am sort of sorry to say this but that is a fact not an opinion. In this case, I hope it was misinterpreted because I will lose any respect for the Bible if it really meant that epilepsy is demonic. No it does not say that epilepsy is demonic. RE: Epilepsy and the Bible
I'm sorry, but I disagree with that whole heartedly.
I'm not changing yer words, you said "really cause I disagree with that" that's what you said isnt it? well the Bible is God's word, isnt it? so if you find fault and think that there is misinterpeted material in it, then that is between God and you, and not me. now if that's not what ya meant, then I do apologize. |

RE: Epilepsy and the Bible
(11-06-2009 11:53 AM)Dr.Teufel Geist Wrote: You will NOT find anything misinterpeted in God's word, Indiangirl. Actually the KJV misinterpreted, and completely perverted the bible in the worst way. The 54 linguists and scholars whom King James appointed to translate the bible from the Textus Receptus, Masoretic Hebrew, Apocrypha, Greek Septuagint, and Latin Vulgate texts edited, and eliminated over half the original scripture. Though the use of the KJV replaced the Bishop's Bible for readings in England it was never officially 'authorized' by the church as it claims to have been. The phrase "Authorized King James Version" meant only that King James authorized it to go to print in 1824. Personally I prefer The Catholic Bible where the majority of the missing scripture still remains, including entire books of the bible which were completely eliminated from the KJV and the NIV as well. There are the seventy-three books found in Catholic editions: forty-six in the Old Testament twenty-seven in the New. Protestant copies usually lack the seven books (Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch, and First and Second Maccabees) and parts of books (Esther 10:4-16:24, and Daniel 3:24-90; 13:1-14:42) (translated into Greek before the birth of Christ) which are not found in the Jewish editions of the Old Testament. The truth is you have never even seen the larger portion of scripture, because KJV chose to eliminate it entirely. I wonder how you can decide the others are filled with misinterpretations, when you haven't even read them. A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. ~Friedrich Nietzsche Feel free to tell me what you need and I will tell you how to get by without it. ~Mom For the believer, both the evidence of science and the failure of science to explain the paranormal is all the proof they need. For the sceptic, no evidence no matter how scientific will ever be proof enough. ~John Zaffis |

RE: Epilepsy and the Bible
The "Bible" is paper, ink and leather. Gods Word is a living thing in fact when you read the Bible it says that Jesus is Gods Word and when that was first written the Bible didnt even exist. ~ Questioning the answers is much more important than answering the questions ~

RE: Epilepsy and the Bible
I'm not changing yer words!
The Bible is God's word, the Bible has no Faults. you can disagree with me til ya turn blue in the face, which judging by yer avatar is sooner than one would think ![]() We are NOT gonna come to an agreement on this subject. For you say I am changing yer words and I am saying you are changing my words, so we are neither winning this debate, it is only fueling our fires of our opinions. so lets just drop this and agree to not let this get to us, okay? my apologies |

RE: Epilepsy and the Bible
Hey Doc I am not upset with you at all man. I enjoy this type of discussion. I appreciate your passion for the Bible and I myself am a firm believer in God, its just that facts are facts and if you actually took time to study the original language you would see it very easily and plainly. There are many, many seeming contradictions in the Bible and people use those to try to prove that the Bible is wrong BUT in nearly all cases (all that I am aware of anyway) there is no real contradiction but instead the problem was caused by a mistranslated word. Like it or not those are the facts, disagree or not it doesnt change it. That is why I prefer to study using the original language along with the KJV.

RE: Anything Misinterpeted in the Bible?
Genesis 22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: So in one passage we had God tempting a man and then in another passage we see that god "neither tempteth he any man". This s only one example of this, there are many many more ~ Questioning the answers is much more important than answering the questions ~

RE: Anything Misinterpeted in the Bible?
Well here are some of the disprencies that I have found:
- One of the first discrepancies occurs in Genesis when God creates man and woman out of his image....and then later he creates eve from Adam's rib. - Another one is after Cain kills Abel....he leaves the family and marries...but who does he marry? - A big one I just found is that after the flood, God states that no one will live past 120 years but we see later in the Bible that people live past that age. It appears to start being 120 around the time Moses dies. http://www.myspace.com/addictionmatters ![]() "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
