My son informed me today that they(whoever they are) recently disproved Darwins Theory. Evolution never jibed with me!I havent researched it yet-but will.

I believe in a higher power-would like to reach a higher form of spiritualism-not religion. That doesnt mean I dont believe in the bible-just still on the search.

They didn't disprove evolution. They just found something that adds to it.

RE: Creationism
Bracket-any help leading me to that would be appreciated.
Haha-my son and his friends come up with a lot of unique ideas-but asking them to back something up-they have difficulty at this point. That will come, the more knowledge they get. Heck-I homeschool, and I was informed today that he believes in the Hollow Earth Theory!!!!!
But cool that 16 yr olds, instead of partying are seeking. I'm proud!!!!
Rambling-my badSmile

Also the whole 7days thing is up for argument. I do not believe the story of creation in Genesis was talking about 7 literal 24 hour days. Besides if you read it, it doesnt even say that everything was created in 7 days. If you think I am mistaken go back and read it again. Earth -already there, water -already there, light and darkness -already there, herbs and seeds -already there.

No offense Boss, but maybe you should read it again.
Genesis chapter1: 1-5=first day
6-8=2nd day
9-13=3rd day
14-19=4th day
20-23=5th day
24-31=6th day
Genesis chapter 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made;and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

RE: Creationism
They only teach Darwins Theory at our public schools. God is not mentioned in our schools at all, except for the Pledge of Allegiance. When I was in high school there were no bible study clubs allowed. Brit told me that they now allow one, just like the ski club, etc. They meet at lunch.

When I was in public school(in Canada)-we sang our National Anthem-God Save The Queen-and recited the Lords Prayer.

I'm happy they at least allow that Ali!!!

Me too. We use to sing America the Beautiful after the pledge. Brit said they did not sing anymore when she was in school. Kinda sad. There are quite a few liberals were I live. Some say my area is conservative, but they do not know real conservatives!

That is really cool that your son is thinking so deeply about the theories. I love when Brit starts thinking outside the box and begins researching info.

When I was a teenager, I use to have a bumper sticker on my old Chevelle that read, "On the seventh day...God went surfing".

No offense taken but you are missing some things

verse 2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

See the water and the earth was already there

verse 9
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

The land was already there

verse 11
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

See? the seed was already in the earth here

RE: Creationism
Nope, gotta disagree with ya again, verses 1-5 were all created in one day, I dont want quote the whole Bible on you, unless I have to.
Smile

Genesis 1:1-5, 1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2.And the earth was without form, and void;and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3.And God said, let there be light:and there was light.
4.And God saw the light, that it was good:and God divided the light from the darkness.
5.And God called the light Day,and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

So you can plainly see that all the above was made in one day,the first day.
and so on as I said above.

RE: Creationism
How can you disagree? It says it plain as day in those verses. You are reading into it instead of just reading what it says Smile

Additionally I believe there is an unknown amount of time between verse 1 and 2 and that is what explains why the earth is millions of years old and not around 7,000 as some fundamentalist believe. If you look this up in the original language you will find that "without form, and void" actually means "Utterly destroyed and laid waste"
