RE: Camp Lady of the Lake
I've heard that song "1913 Massacre"....I believe I heard it sung by his son, Arlo Guthrie...and I knew it was based on something that really happened. That was a fascinating read, UNR.

That was a pretty fascinating read. I had no idea that happened!

Oh and about Gettysburg. One of my close friends went to Gettysburg, and said he heard some odd voices and shuffling when he was in some of the building that are around the battlefield. It's not too creepy or evil sounding, but he says that to his knowledge, nobody was around him at the time.

From what I hear, they have the area patrolled now, but before it was I went there with friends at about 2am, hoping to witness some activity. We walked all around, I took pictures, we got nothing.

RE: Camp Lady of the Lake
Of course Gettysburg would make you feel like that, alot of people died there a miserable death too.

I heard they even do reenactments of that day too.

And as far as the lady of the lake, and the two groups of children & caretaker dying goes I've never heard of that incident.

Would be a cool place to check out, even though the two groups of children/caretaker died in a horrible way it would still be a cool place to check it out.

And maybe get some activity.

I was a camp counselor there in 1966. It was a camp for orphans. There no longer seem to be orphanages, but there were many in this camp by Lake Erie. I am not sure when it closed.

RE: Camp Lady of the Lake
Yes Haunted travels of Michigan- Lady of the Lake, is the title of a video on youtube. A love story gone wrong (lady kills herself waiting for lover to return). It's not about a camp but about "lady of the lake" who haunts a lake. The story is also featured in a book.

Or.. There is this story, Camp Lady by the Lake

Camp Lady by the Lake, 11 miles south of Monroe in Luna Pier, was once used as a camp for orphans. According to local legend, the woman who operated the camp left to walk along the beach. Upon her return, she found the entire camp blazing. After finding that all the children perished in the fire, the woman committed suicide. Visitors to the camp have reported haunted activities occurring between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Possible paranormal activity includes sounds of screaming children, apparitions of children playing in the camp and the ghost of the woman down by the lake. Some people have reported being chased by a black phantom.

Also....Here is a link to an article about it with several photos...http://www.nailhed.com/2014/12/turtle-island-pt-3-lady-of-lake.html
