If the Ouija boards have the potential to release Demons, then why do people mess with them?

The mind is not in the brain, but the heart and soul.

RE: why?
I can only speak for myself here. When i messed with one, i had no idea that the paranormal was real, i just didn't believe in it, or it's possibilities. I only joined in the game for fun and just to see what would happen. I didn't believe it would work and i certainly didn't believe in such things as demons... did i have a wake up call. I not only believe in demons and the paranormal now, i know with certainty that they exist.

This is why i tel my story, hopefully it will put people off playing with the ouija, or other occult toys, like tarot etc.

RE: why?
People have always been interested in communicating with the 'other side'. Many times it is because they want to contact a deceased loved one. There is also a sense of adventure in communicating with the supernatural world and a lot of people think its "cool"

RE: why?
Because there is strong evidence that it is just that...a board. I don't agree necessarily with it, but a lot of people don't see a problem...it is really looked at as a simple game. That, and there are those that really want to communicate with spirits that have passed on...and that desire leads them to the board.

In my opinion, too many people have had very bad experiences with one. Mine was minor, but it was enough to keep me from wanting to experiment again.

One of our members, Bracket, wrote an excellent article on how the Ouija board came about and it's history...I do believe that the original intent was to make a quick dollar, I just don't agree that it should be sold as a game.

Here is the article Bracket wrote, just click on the link.

I will add that while I don't agree that it is a harmless game, I think this article was very well written and informative...it really is something you have to make your own choice about.

We are sorry, but due to the cost of energy the light at the end of the tunnel has now been shut off. In it's place you'll find a hyper kid with a glow stick.

RE: why?
I also think alot of ppl don't know it can release demons. I know my mom didn't know it when she bought me one. You know I am sure that there alot of parents who don't know the dangers of them as because they wouldn't dare think that ToysRUs would sell something dangerous.

RE: why?
i agree Taz, and what CT said, of course, forgot that people want to contact their dead relatives, but the trouble there is, people are very vulnerable to evil forces taking advantage of them. This happens more than people realise and they get addicted to using the board. Often they are being decieved into believing they have contacted loved ones. The game can be very dangerous and what Scary said is right. The ouija should not be passed off as a game.

Yes I think that is the section that ToysRUs sells them in....the game section. Unfortunately in this game you can end up being the pawn.

RE: why do people mess with Ouija Boards?
Great way of putting it Warrior. I just wish people would listen, but it's always going to be one of those mystical things which will always attract people even if they're not for sale in toy stores. Removing them from toy stores would at least get rid of the ouija as a game fit for children.

RE: why do people mess with Ouija Boards?
I think people want to just look into the unknown, you know? None of us really know what there trully is on "the other side."
