This picture has stumped everyone
[Image: kitchenghost.jpg]

I swear to you I have done nothing to this photo to retouch it. All I have done was edit it with contrast and sharpness. I have shown this to a lot of people and no one can give me a logical explanation. I promise I am sane and normal - just a 42 year old stay at home mom that is amazed by this photo!

A couple of years ago I got some old real 35mm film developed that had been sitting around for a few years. This picture jumped out at me! None of the other pics had anything like this on them. This was at my mother's house, on her birthday. I was taking pictures of the clay pots on her shelf that my kids painted for her birthday. There was nothing behind me that could have caused this reflection. No dish towels, no coat racks, no people...my mom keeps a very simple house without a lot of stuff. And I don't wear robes or dresses...or hoods, lol. Does not look like my reflection at ALL. The window behind the sink looks out onto their deck. You can faintly see the deck rails in the background. But there was also nothing outside that could have made this.

My parents don't live in an old house. But there has been noises, and my mother and I have both, on different occasions, seen "shadow people" in our peripheral vision.

The weird thing is that when I enlarged the photo, inside the space where the head would be is a little face. Not lying. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. I included an enlarged pic here to see if you see the same thing.

There are 3 pictures here combined in one - the original, then the "ghost" enlarged on the right, and under that the "face".

RE: This picture has stumped everyone
It looks like a woman with a sheet partly over her left side of her face or her hair.
I can make out the eye, eyebrow, nose, mouth, and it looks female alright
I really cant see anything in the little enlarge pic at the bottom right.
It really look like a reflection, I know you said it isnt, but it does.
Either way, it's a really creepy cool pic.

That is an interesting photo....I honestly don't know what it could be, however we do have members on here who are very good at examining these types of pictures. I appreciate you sharing it...do you remember anything about the day the photo was taken?

I am really intrigued by this picture, as if I'm drawn to it, I think it would make an awesome avatar or background picture for computer.
I give it two bloody thumbs up Cool

RE: This picture has stumped everyone
Thanks. I have been intrigued by it ever since I saw it, because I have never seen anything like it before...at least not anything that I took.

Don't remember a whole lot about that night but I do know I didn't see anything like that in person. The only other people there were my parents, my husband and my 4 kids. It was in June. It was just a barbeque. My mom and I weren't wearing dresses, lol...probably shorts and t-shirts!

Looks to me like a reflection in the glass ( this makes it transparent) of a plastic bag or something hanging on a small round knob which you can see in the picture. The problem with old film cameras is people take pictures and then forget what was there by the time they develop the picture. You said yourself the film was setting around a couple years before being developed.

When investigating paranormal don't rely on assumptions, base your decisions on evidence.

RE: This picture has stumped everyone
Thanks for replying. People have said similar things. However, the way the kitchen is set up, there is not any possibility of this. The counters are low, there is no knob to hang things off at all, and the only thing behind me at that angle is an open doorway with a couple of steps down that lead to the living room...in which there is also nothing I can think of that would cause such a reflection. She doesn't have a coat rack, and she keeps a very neat house without any stuff hanging anywhere. Which is why I am so baffled.

RE: This picture has stumped everyone
The fact is that 35mm film has it's place. It isn't in paranormal photography. It's too easy to improperly wind the film, causing a double exposure photo to have dual images. Your description of the room may be accurate, however it fairly obvious another photo was captured either prior to this snapshot or after. What you are seeing are the ghostly images of another picture. It isn't paranormal, but simple human error.

Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, but in high heels and backwards.
