New Ghost Picture With a Bizzare Story

Today I received a VERY interesting ghost picture along with a full story behind it.

A man was out one night taking picutre of the full moon. The sky was very clear. Suddenly a mist or fog like thing lunged down at him. It looked very much like a ghost with a well defined head and face. He snapped one last picture to get the "thing" and then ran back into the house.

I can't explain this one. It almost looks like a camera strap to the left, the straight line, this could cause the odd picture with the flash bouncing off. But not enough to tell. If you want a spooky picture turn it upside down. Then your mind can matrix and you see faces.

Im not sure about the person who took the photo, but normally you would not use the flash when you are taking pictures of something like the moon.

Actually, now that I thnk about it, this person may have been using a flash judging by how the tree branch is lit up in the first picture.

I thought the pic was amazing, it certainly gave me chills when I looked at.

I also think that a flash was used and it is a good thing that it was because the weird fog looking thing probably wouldnt have shown up that clearly if it werent for the flash.

It is very strange how there appears to be some sort of shape going up both sides of the head and at the top of the head there appears to be some sort of structure or even a hat.

Seeing this come at you and still taking a photo would take some nerve although he did make for the house afterwards. Ya, it looks like the flash was on. After reading the story you've got to wonder why "hauntings" affect people the way they do. jg

The author of this post has emailed me with an additional comment:

“I want to assure you that the photograph I sent you was not a hoax, and as far as my husband, who has never smoked, was aware there was no one around who may have been smoking. There are no houses around with chimneys either. But our house and garden has a high wall around it, so I suppose that there might have been someone out there who was smoking. I’d love to believe it was smoke but this thing was really big and it seems very odd to me that that much smoke could have somehow come over the wall and across the garden looking and acting like that. From what my husband describes, it just wasn’t like that, and he was really pale and shaken when he came in. “

Ok first let me say that the temperature in Scotland in January at night is -5C to 3c this is 32 to 36F. While photographing the moon (which is not zoomed in at all in the first picture.) The suspect picture the moon is slightly larger and way off to the right, the straight line on the left of the photo looks like so many camera strap photos or lens cap photos. If the lens cap or camera strap were in the way, with the low temperatures the photographers breath could easily have been reflected in the picture. The first picture shows a tree or large bush branch hanging down into the picture. By moving the camera to the left more of the tree or branch should of been visible.

In my opinion this is an explainable picture based on the conditions and photograph.

I would like to thank the people who have taken time to comment on this. Particularly the user who reminded us of the temperatures in Scotland. I should like to try to describe the situation the night that white thing showed up, but would like to say that we are making no claims as to what any of the odd photographs are. I have simply tried to explain what has happened to us. 1. Because I have come to believe that these things should be in the public domain and have found the caretaker to be both professional and unjudgmental, and 2. Because, science and medicine leaving us with no answers, I am hoping that those familiar with the paranormal may be able to offer us some advice.

We certainly can get some really cold weather during Scottish winters! But the temps round here really can fluctuate a great deal because we are sheltered all round with hills, and it wasn't at all frosty that night. As for the flash (embarrassed here) - my husband is pretty new to photography and only has one book and although he has tried photographing full moons before, they always turn out like that. I shall tell him that if he did use a flash, it might help not to use one in future...

The outside lights are motion sensors (which often go on when no one is there during the night) and the bushes in one of the pics are right in that one's path, as was the white thing. There are more photographs showing the clear night than the one posted, and only that one has the bushes in it. He was trying from different angles, I suppose, but he was never that far from the door. The white thing came from his left. He was already back on the doorstep ready to take another picture.

The camera has a lense cap that isn't fastened to the camera and you have to take right off, so it couldn't have had anything to do with it, and there was no strap since he took the strap off because we were all so fed up with having big back loops through our faces - unfortunately, thumbs are more difficult to get rid of...

If it is my husband's breath then it had never happened before and he has taken many photographs outdoors in winter and besides that, he felt as if it were coming right for him out of nowhere and it really frightened him.

I hope this explanation helps.

Thank you all once again for commenting. I have written a more detailed account of the things that have happened to us and included some more photographs, taken in both our old house and new. I am in the process of reading the articles on the site, to see if anything might apply to us but if any of you have any advice to offer please, please do not hesitate (particulalry the person in 'comments' who seemed to think they knew what it was and had a mother whom it made ill). My biggest fear is that everything will escalate again while we are all so low and in poor health.

The story sounds very interesting! But the pictures are very wierd. So many of them too!
One of the pictures kinda does look like a camera strip as someone else pointed out!
