RE: Wicca Group
The problem with a lot of religions is that if you don't follow exactly what they believe in then they say it's evil. They have branded Wicca and Paganism evil yet they are as far from it as any religion I have seen.I don't want to get into a big debate over other religions as everyone has there own right to practice what religion they want but I have been on both sides and I am much happier where I'm at now.As for trying to find a group what I have done is look up Wicca and Pagan groups in my state and after you come up with that list contact some of them and they might be able to tell you of groups even closer to you try Witch Vox.Also don't be afraid to talk and let people know of your beliefs they don't burn us at the stake anymore even though some people would still like to.

There's nothing wrong with wicca. I have family and friends that practice wicca and they have had no problems.

thanks Bracket. he doesnt seem to understand its not 'evil' as he puts it

i'm sure i don't have to tell you, but Wiccas and pagans take a lot of crap from people nowadays. ignorant people. The handful of Wiccas i've met in my town are more level headed than many christians i've met. My beliefs have more in common with the old ways than any modern religion.

I suggest you receive your training, in whatever school of Wicca, on a one-to-one basis and not on the Net. It takes a great deal of time and study that internet will not allow. Whatever course you choose, be aware of anyone that wants to charge you for services you might not receive or might not be the quality you expect. It is not something to be taken lightly, as it often mandaates changes in life-style or long held beliefs to adopt what Wicca demands. It did for me but I had a close friend to guide me through it, as I now help others.

The notion of picking one time of the year to be decent to other people is obscene because it's actually validating the notion of being miserable wretches the rest of the year.

RE: Wicca Group
I read a grimoire awhile back that listed several colors of witch craft.
Red: Alchemy
Black: sorcery
Grey: Lore mastery
green: wortcunning
brown: beast mastery
white: healing
purple (i think): astronomy
i know there's more than the listed colors but it's been awhile. I don't know if it's accurate or relavent but still neat.

This is so very true. I am a Wiccan, I am in a Coven and I have worked VERY hard one on one with my teachers to get as far as I have gotten. Currently I am teaching a group of dedicates a "101" course. It took a long time to get to where I stand in my coven. I am a High Priestess (not THE high priestess) and I couldnt have gotten that far from an internet course.

If you are serious about learning Wicca...I suggest you get on Witchvox or Meetup.com and type in Pagan or Wiccan groups in your hometown.
